Relapse weight struggles

What's the science behind why it's so much harder to lose weight after you gained it back from an? I get metabolism is a bit altered but there's still a limit to how much it can adapt...

Like will you end up just maintaining forever on such a low amount? I don't think this is biologically possible..it's not possible to form energy out of thin air?? I'm sorry... I'm just incredibly frustrated :(

How ppl would look at me if I told them I was recovering from AN bc I overshot and am FAT AF

So if you were to ask me why I look so different (if they dare) I'll just say I'm bulking 😀💪🏻

Sharing experiences? Struggles?

If you've had/have AN/AN-BP/AAN/Bulimia, have you ever been able to fully recover, or how many relapses have you had? What happened with all of them?

I like hearing people's stories/experiences because I often can't find people I can relate to in my real world and have been hiding myself for months since I've gained all the weight back. I also am wondering about any metabolism success stories.

For me, I've had restrictive ed on and off since I was 12 (I'm 23 now). 3 wl cycles, 2 total relapses, but my last one lasted 4 years and was my total worst. I'm now "in recovery" again but don't feel so confident about it, since I've become ow now. So now I've been NW, UW, NW, UW, NW, UW and now OW, and it feels like my life is in shambles.

Is it possible to just be healthy and not relapse

Has anyone went back to being underweight if you became overweight in recovery?

Are you really just doomed to relapse every time you just "want to lose a bit of weight"?

Weight cycling

Does anyone else lose all the weight, and then gain it all back and more, just to lose it all again??

I've been dealing with this shit since I was 12. I'm 23 now. I lose and gain and lose and gain and lose and gain like there's no tomorrow, to try and get even lower each time. Idk why, but it feels like a really good drug, to start over and lose it all again. The feeling is addicting.

I'm probably doing my metabolism numbers, but I can't stop. I've regained all the weight again, and all that's on my mind 24/7 is when I will be able to lose it again. I should be thinking about my future, but I only think about this. Iwant to know if others can relate...I'm such a loser

Appetite

I can't explain how dreadful and how much of a pain it is in the ass to go and make myself food when I haven't felt hunger in years. I have been eating more since December, gained the weight, but I still have no appetite. I don't wanna eat in general, and it's worse bc I don't even have any desire to eat but it's like I have to force myself or tHeRe GoEs My MeTaBoLiSm AgAiN. Which is what I'm trying to fix.

I have been living off ensure since everything is tasteless and no appetizing to me. Is it ever going to come back? Because the less I have an appetite the more I want to go back to old ways because it's easy.

Ruined my body from relapsing in recovery

Yea. I didn't like how I gained weight and thought after a couple of months of eating more and maintaining the new weight I would be set to lose again. I ended up relapsing and the opposite literally happened. I didn't lose anything, and I just kept cutting calories to see my stupid body do something.

Gave up on this and tried to go back to what I was eating before and thought "maybe since I didn't relapse for very long I'll be fine just going back to eating what I was a few months ago". No. I'm two times the size now and I eat less than what I did before I lapsed.

Please yall just save yourself and let yourself heal and eat normally for a very long time even if you don't like how you look. I hated being at my weight restored body but I would do anything to go back to what I thought I hated. Dumb choice strikes again.

It also seems like despite eating the same for the past 5 months I am still getting bigger. I'm gonna crash out

Ever since I've recovered my metabolism is shit, I'm overweight, I have rolls everywhere all over my stomach my thighs are huge my face looks like a sponge it's been months, I've tried relapsing, I workout, I walk a bunch of steps a day, and I just keep getting bigger. I don't even eat unhealthy, I also don't even eat the average amount for someone who is active bc I cannot stand the thought of getting even bigger. I don't even like eating, I don't get hungry, and whenever I eat I have an urge to burn in off or I'll feel like shit. Not at all trying to deter anyone from recovering, but ts wasn't for me, and I can't wait to relapse again and for good.
