What should I choose? I can’t decide between ECE and IE

Hi! I’m a girl who really loves coding even though I sometimes find it difficult to understand. My parents are encouraging me to choose Industrial Engineering instead of Electronics Engineering because they say IE is easier, especially when it comes to the board exam, and that it’s more “girly.” I’m applying to UP, and I’m really torn between putting ECE or IE as my first and second choice. I still really want to experience being an engineer, but I also like the idea of IE because it combines engineering with business, management, and operations.

I’m also wondering which one is more flexible in terms of career opportunities, especially if I want to work abroad someday. I’ve heard that Philippine engineering licenses may not automatically carry over to other countries, so I’m curious which degree would be more useful internationally. I’ve researched IE and it seems like it offers a lot of career paths, but I’m worried about the competition, especially in UP. For those taking or who graduated from ECE or IE, which would you recommend for someone like me? Should I choose ECE because it’s closer to what I genuinely enjoy, or IE because it gives me more options, especially in business?

Automated trashbin that detect plastic paper and metal

Hi everyone! We’re currently working on a research project where we need to build an automated trash bin that can sort paper, plastic, and metal. We only have around 1 week to make the prototype, so we’re trying to figure out what materials and sensors we should buy.

We’ll be using an Arduino Uno R3 as the main controller, but we’re not really sure yet which sensors would be best for detecting each type of waste.

We’d really appreciate any advice on:

What sensors can detect metal, plastic, and paper

Other components/materials we’ll need for the prototype

How we can make the sorting mechanism work with Arduino

Any tips or research papers/tutorials we can use as a guide

We’re still beginners with Arduino, so any help or recommendations would mean a lot. Thank you so much in advance

It's been 7 years since I registered for national ID

I really need to have valid ID, 18 na ako this september and I need to have valid ID as much as possible. So do I need to go sa nearest registration center with the slip? makakakuha na ba ako ng physical ID?

Naa access ko naman po yung digital ID sa e-gov app, pero yung digital ID ayaw naman po tanggapin sa mga apps like tiktok sa paylater at iba pangaapplyan na need ng physical valid ID. What should I do po?
