# edit to show correct inverter size

I have a technical survey happening soon and the more I look into my needs, the more conflicting things seem

We use 2350kwh per year in a 4 bed detached new build. We are low users. Two young children so the usage will rise eventually. Mrs works from home.

EV on the way (sept)

I’m getting 14 panels (full roof)

6.720 kW Total Module Power
14 x 480 Watt Panels
5,718 kWh per year

7kw inverter
2x Sunsynk 5.1kW ELITE HYB
Battery (1ph) IP65
10.24kWh of Battery Storage

POD point solo 3 EV charger point

£11.4k inc scaffold/ bird protection

It’s likely I won’t be getting the most out of this system and I’ve seen that this may not be good for the battery..

I thought future-proofing and even charging the EV off the battery as well as using an EV tarrif could have benefits.

I could lower the battery to 5kwh and cut some costs today although at some point, adding a second battery is going to obviously cost in labour later.

I guess I’m just needing to know if this bigger battery has a place here. I’m hoping to export some energy to offset the whole price over time and my DNO has approved with no restrictions.

I’m after opinions and if possible, anyone in a similar situation

Handing back a car after lease

I’ve never leased a car before. I’m wondering what measures I should take to protect the car for two years and 30000 miles to ensure I don’t get slapped with a big fee.

Am I worrying? Should I get PPF on the front?

Change PCH mileage before delivery?

I have just ordered a model 3 and 12,000 per year included.

Obviously it’s not going to be with me until at least September.

I’ve been thinking, I’ll probably drive this more than my I usually do in my ICE car due to cost.

Has anyone extended the mileage before delivery but after ordering? I guess it’s Santander that I need to speak to?

Best of 2 options?

Thanks for comments on previous posts.

Fife, Scotland.
2350kwh usage pa.
Don’t have EV but do plan on it.

Both at £11,400

Option 1. Local installer

14 longi panels
Ecoflow 6kw inverter
10kwh Ecoflow battery. (2x5)
Bird protection
Installation + scaffold

Option 2. National installer + exclusive tariff.
14 longi panels
Sunsynk 7kwh inverter
10kwh sunsynk battery (2x5)
Ohm EV Charger
Bird protection
Installation + scaffold.

I don’t know enough to know how these batteries will affect the system or how easy to use they will be and how that should shape my decision.

Any advice or experience appreciated.

Quote check, Fife.

After some good advice from my last post about plug-in, I just had my first in person appointment. No great surprises.

It’s a young company and looks similar pricing to online estimates from the likes of Octopus, who don’t install up here.

Looking at speaking to at least a couple of others and hope the meetings can be a bit quicker. There was a bit too much time spent on why we should get solar rather than the system.

Any happy Fife or Scotland customers, please fire over recommendations

Plug-in solar must be a sensible option for me.

I live in central belt Scotland in a new build 4 bed. I work 4 days a week and wife works from home 4 days a week.

We have gas for water/heat and stove.

I’ve had quotes for solar but our low use just doesn’t see to make sense in terms of cost over the next 10 years.

I have a garden-room with a roof that faces south west which has power with its own breaker.

Is it just a case of filling the 4x3m roof with panels and a couple of micro inverters? It’d be good to take care of the daily/back ground consumption

Beginner question here.

I have just got my 8yo son the starter set from Argos including 3x decks and a board.

He LOVES it! I’m so happy to play with him and we are already having so much fun and getting to grips with it.

I see that buying the packs has become somewhat tricky nowadays but we would like more cards.

I’ve seen adverts for bulk cards on eBay and FB. Is this a good way to get more cards to play with? Not looking to collect.

Will what ever cards we get be compatible with the set we have? The ones we have, have some EX Pokémon.

That’s about it for now. Just looking to make sure any purchases are positive and not make too many mistakes buying at this early stage.
