I came across probably 400 new vintage pencils at the thrift store today. Can anyone estimate the vintage? Anything especially interesting here? I did learn about the health risks of copying pencils. I may become a pencil collector lol.

I've always loved this Trinitron, but it only supports S-video and most of my consoles are set up to use Component cables. Now I can use a component switcher and play them all in the best quality whether I'm using my HDTV or my CRT (though after seeing these results, I doubt I'll ever be using the HDTV again).

I repurposed the Video Out jacks to be my Component In jacks, so the only cut required was the toggle switch. I think it ended up being a pretty clean mod. I didn't bother with SCART/RGB because I'm already invested all the way with Component.

I followed Sunthar's guide and the only problem is I've lost use of my s-video port. I think I could have avoided that by adding more lines to my switch, but I wasn't really clear on what that would need to be. And in any case, I don't have anything that uses s-video that isn't already set up for component.

IMO This is one of Sony's most attractive sets with the curved screen and black case, and it's the perfect size for my setup. I'm SO glad I did this instead of upgrading to a Wega set or similar.
