Best strapless option for archery arm guard?

I made an archery arm guard for my son. It was a spur of the moment thing a couple nights ago and I carved it up. I didn't think through how to attach it to the arm. Ive looked at others online and I am thinking the best bet may be just 4 grommets on both sides, some 1/8th shock cord and a barrel lock to tighten it up. Any other options I should consider?

Does this bow look like it's worth saving?

I am looking to pick up an older Trad bow to do some hunting with and I was curious what you all might think of this? It's in pretty rough shape but there is no delamination on the tips or the sides of the limbs however the fiberglass on the limbs desert appear to have some finish worn through as you can see from the pics I don't mind putting some elbow grease into it is I am pretty good with carpentry and refinishing however dealing with fiberglass is totally new for me any input would be greatly appreciated

Bowyer classes?

My son just got out of the Navy and he is really into trad archery and keeps talking about wanting to build a bow. My wife and I were thinking of gifting him a bow making class. Are there any places (prefer east coast US) where you can go for a few days and learn some things and come home with a bow?

antique shop find

I have kond of put the cart before the horse here... recently I have peaked an interest in black powder. Looking at getting a Kibler kit (20g fowler) but have yet to swipe my card.

Today while at an antique shop in Portland Maine with my wife i happened upon this powder horn. I know nothing about these other than some reading I've done online. Truth be told its the first one I've ever had in my hand.

Is this something I might be able to use for my BP setup? It was $25 so I am certain it wont ruin my day either way... if nothing else its a cool decoration.
