N64 Castlevania

I’ve played a few of the Castlevanias. Not enough to be a diehard, but enough to say I enjoy the franchise. That being said…. For games based so heavily on horror tropes, the N64 titles are the only ones I’ve found creepy. Just curious to see if I’m the only one that felt this way. The atmosphere in those games was 10/10.

[LA] The Windfish is an asshole

So here you are after having spent weeks adventuring in deadly dungeons, collecting these eight instruments, falling in love, finding out that the island is a dream and everything fading away, you wake up on a raft. You’re probably shell shocked, traumatized, etcetera and you see the Windfish fly overhead and you smile…. AND THIS MOTHERFUCKER CAN’T EVEN GIVE YOU A RIDE TO SHORE?!! He just leaves your ass in the middle of the ocean on a raft with no supplies?!! What the hell?!! Fuck you Windfish!

Playing Devil’s Advocate: I don’t see why I should be excited.

I pretty firmly expect people to grab pitchforks but…. Why should I be excited? No Man’s Sky has certainly exceeded expectations; but, it’s an intimidating game. I used to really enjoy it. Around when my youngest was born I fell off of it and by the time I got back, there were just so many updates. I tried to go back to my freighter and the layout was completely fucked. All of my modules were gone. It just seemed too massive and intimidating to try to pick up again.

Now enter Light No Fire. Sure. At surface level, fantasy NMS sounds amazing. I’ve had a love for fantasy since I was what? Five? But we have a game that they just don’t want to share? They’ve had the ability to share details for months, and they just haven’t? Nothing for nearly three years. Yeah I get it, NMS was overhyped. The backlash was big. You released a bad game. Get over it. You fixed it sure, no denying that. But I just don’t get why everybody is here sitting on pins and needles while being led around by the nose by this developer.

I like NMS, but it’s just too large and intimidating for me to try to tackle at this point, and I really don’t have any reason to believe LNF will be any different, and I’m not going to handhold some developer who was traumatized by a bad release. Why when I can just go play literally any other fantasy building game? Hope I’m not the only one to feel this way, but I’m not going to go out of my way to be excited for a game that’s starting to feel like gaming Stockholm Syndrome.

I’m making a kind of Cosplay / LARP character based on the concept of the Green Knight from Arthurian myth. I’m putting together the helmet. I was disappointed with a chaperone from Mytholon, but it turned out to be a PERFECT cover for the helmet. I glued it down with some E6000 which seems to be holding really well. I decided to wind some artificial ivy around it and pin it in place with safety pins, but it’s held together with these plastic chains. Does anybody have any ideas about how to hide those? Any additions you would make? The primary colors are green and yellow for the costume
