My 1 ye old rescue cat is felv+
I rescue my current cat last year around august, he was positive with fcv, fcov, and gia. thank gosh negative on fpv But he survived, we tested him early this year he was negative in fcv, fcov and gia. He is already spayed when he was 6months old and he also got his 4-in-1 vaccines, anti-rabies when he was 5 months old. He is up to date with his antiflea, deworm and vaccines.
I was gonna adopt a new cat from one of the shelters, so i had to do a full check with my cat again. This time I ask for felv, fiv and fip. He was positive with felv and fip and I was informed that I can't adopt another cat that is negative on felv.
My cat is energetic and has appetite his blood chem ag is 0.8 at normal that's why the vet rule it as non infectious but I am gonna have prc test this October. October bec he have meds that he has to take for 30 days such as the thrombo care. The vet said I should just continue his immune systems vitamins.
Most of the vet clinic here in Philippines still doesn't have the felv vaccine.
Can't I really adopt another cat? it's just I worried that my cat will be lonely bec I work in the office 9hrs+ and sometimes when I check the cctv he would just wait in the window and will not even eat.
Any advices and suggestions?
