Friend caught robbing pharmacy for lean ingredients in Illinois

trying to figure this out because everybody’s telling him different stuff and he’s stressing hard right now.

My friend is 24, no priors at all. A few weeks ago he got arrested in Illinois after trying to rob a small pharmacy with another dude. From what I heard they were mainly after promethazine/codeine syrup and pills, not cash. Supposedly one of them implied they had a gun but no actual firearm was recovered when they got picked up later.

Nobody got hurt and the employees complied, but he got hit with robbery charges plus some drug-related stuff.

Lawyer told his family “best case probation is unrealistic” but wouldn’t really say numbers yet. Some people saying 3-5 years, others saying since it involved a pharmacy and implied weapon he could get way more.

Anybody been through something similar in Illinois or know what people actually get for this type of case if they plead out? Trying to separate reality from people just scaring him.

How much time is he looking at?

Someone I know in Georgia just got arrested over one of those ATM theft cases where they ripped the machine out of a gas station at night and got around 50k.

Apparently no one got hurt and there were no weapons involved, but the cops hit them with a bunch of charges like burglary, felony theft, property damage, and maybe even federal charges because the ATM belonged to a bank.

The family is freaking out because online it says everything from a couple years to decades in prison.

Realistically, for a first-time offender, what kind of sentence do people actually get in Georgia for something like this? Do these usually end in plea deals or do prosecutors go hard because it’s an ATM/bank-related case?

Just curious how serious these cases are in real life versus the maximum penalties you read online.

Location: Georgia USA I’ve gotten myself into a situation. I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what I might be facing, not sugarcoated.

A couple months ago I made a really bad decision. I went into a gun store to look at a couple guns and try stealing one. Things escalated, an employee tried to intervene and I ended up hitting him with a pistol. I got away at the time, but I was picked up later and now I’m being charged with multiple felonies. From what I understand it includes armed robbery, aggravated assault, and weapons charges.

(I don’t have a record, im completely clean ). I’ve got a public defender right now and haven’t had a full sit-down yet to go over everything in detail, so I’m just sitting here stressing and overthinking.

I know nobody here can give exact answers, but for people who’ve been through the system in Georgia or something similar what kind of time range am I realistically looking at if convicted? Are we talking a decade+? More? Is there any chance things like plea deals bring that down significantly in cases like this?

Appreciate any insight

So today I placed an order online from a vape website and it was for around 40 dollars. They wanted me to send an e-transfer to an email address which I did. My bank and everything showed deposited but then they called me to say they can’t access money because it’s in some other account and I have to send again with my name and order number in the e-transfer since I only put the order number in the message box in e-transfer. They are saying they won’t refund unless I pay again and if I don’t pay they will charge a cancellation fee of 35USD which if not paid will be mailed to my home address and basically threatened me. Is this a scam and what is happening here?
