How to differentiate between a tan vs irritation?

I wear sunscreen (spf50) all day with reapplications, yet my face + neck are darker than my body. Any tips yall have for differentiating between whether this is a tan I have to get rid of (possibly with HQ and/or AA) or whether it is tazarotene irritation I am experiencing (from too frequent application or not enough moisturization)

Some more details if it helps: I have no flaking, skin seems pretty clear (but noticeably darker), sometimes it can become light again & closer to how my body’s tone is right after I cleanse.

Would appreciate any help 🙏

Morning routine recommendations on Arazlo

Hi all!

I have combo/oily skin for reference and after cleansing, am left with bright skin. I’ve been on Arazlo for the last 2 months (everyday for last month) and after so much trial & error, figured out that after cleansing at night, I look best applying only Arazlo. I tried applying the Zeroid richenic 5% urea on after Arazlo, but my skin becomes a whole shade browner, so I decided to stop. As another experiment, I tried putting on the LaRochePosay Lipikar Triple Repair Balm after Arazlo, but that also left me a shade browner and very sticky.

But now im lost because Ive learned from this sub that ceramides are extremely important for my barrier health while on Arazlo and so, im basically left needing to get them all from my morning routine. Besides the two failed experiments above, so far, ive tried the following and all have been wayyy too sticky in the morning for me & left me darker:
- Etude SoonJung 5.5 toner
- Aestura365 lotion
- Cerave tub
- Aveeno Oats Gel
- Zeroid Richenic 5% urea

What other options would work based on how my skin has reacted to everything so far? I just want to maintain that bright and clear look I have after cleansing & applying Arazlo (while also maintaining a healthy barrier with ceramides), but every moisturizer I’ve tried just leaves me a shade darker 😢

It’s almost like less is better for me and I look better without the skincare, but I don’t wanna dehydrate or damage my skin in the long run…

Carrying peptide vials from US to Canada “allowed”?

Hey, does anyone have experience bringing in 5+ unreconstituted peptide vials from America back to Canada as a Canadian citizen?

Ive heard the recommended advice is to bring it with u in ur carry-on instead of luggage (for temperature purposes), but I was moreso curious if there is genuinely any risk for Canadians getting back into the country from America but now with a bunch of unreconstituted vials?

Ofc there is no prescription for them, so if customs were to be suspicious, what were to happen?

How long is too long in customs (CBSA)?

Worried about a package I ordered from China that’s been sitting in customs for 2.5 weeks (since June 3rd) and hasn’t been cleared yet nor has there been further updates beyond that. When should I give up hope and assume it’s been seized / detained?

From what I’ve heard from others, there’s no backlog anymore from the earlier strike, so the extremely long wait time seems quite odd…

2 months Arazlo + 1 month Finacea

Hello everyone! This community helped me a lot in trying to figure out the dos & donts of retinoids, but after 2 months of Arazlo (0.045% Tazarotene) + 1 month of Finacea (15% Azelaic Acid), I don’t know if im on the right track or just straight up messing up my skin.

I have a lot of tiny red dots throughout my forehead and cheeks area, and a few actual pimples in those areas as well. Was wondering if based on the images, these would just be the result of normal cellular turnover from retinoids early on or am I actually irritated?
