Ok so I’m over 2 months in and want to up to ante a bit with some exercise/strength training. I already do a daily dog walk so I get my steps in where I can.
However…I am a full time and solo parent-carer so I have very little time for myself and when I do get some quiet time I am exhausted and unmotivated and just want to sit and read my book. It’s one of the reasons I started MJ, I didn’t have time to go down the traditional route of exercising and needed some help.
I have various equipment at home - exercise bike, punch bag, kettle bells and resistance bands from past previous attempts. I think I’m looking for some quick 15 mins wins that I could slowly introduce into my day, but don’t necessarily have to do every day. Something that doesn’t take too much motivation and won’t sap what little energy I have left…am I looking for a miracle?!
Any ideas, tips, motivational quotes or even “just get off your bum and do it” quotes are welcome!
Because I am melting!!
First time reader here and I noticed in Heir of Fire that I struggled to connect with Manon and found those particular chapters a real slog to read. Now reading QoS and I still feel the same, I normally like to read one chapter in one go but I find myself putting the book down when it’s her chapters (like right now) and begrudgingly picking it back up to get through it.
I’m guessing she is an integral part of the story and it will all come together at some point, so does it get more exciting to read at least? I never skim pages but I am so tempted!
At my weekly weigh in this morning I looked at the scales and actually smiled. It’s been a long long time since I have done that.
Now I’ve only just started (4 weeks at 2.5mg and took my 1st dose of 5mg last night) so it’s nothing major (4.2kg lost since the first jab) and I still have a long way to go, but it’s so wonderful to see those numbers moving down. I’ve never been one to weigh myself and get stuck in the numbers, I normally go off how I feel in my clothes. But I’m finding it helpful this time to show that the investment is actually working. So much so that I have some smart scales arriving today and can’t wait to see more numbers!
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this group so far. I have a read through every day (probably my most visited subreddit at the moment) and it is so great to see everyone’s success stories, they make me excited for the future.
For anyone thinking of starting out, just do it! It’s an awesome feeling to be able to take control of this part of your life. It’s the best money I have spent in a while and any side effects can be managed (just search in this group, someone has been there and done it)
Onwards and upwards…well downward on the scale!
