Overall weirdness...

I've been having some unexpected, unusual pain in my left breast for about 2 weeks. It started as sort of a heavy, fleeting minute or two of achiness. I just turned 36 and am easily suggestable to perimenopause-tok. Coupled with some other potentially hormonal weird symptoms, I sort of wrote off the weird left boobness. Period arrived 5 days early, according to my app and I'm on my 9th day of bleeding, horrible night sweats, nausea, lack of appetite, generally feeling run down. Hormones, probably.

Last night I realized the pain has become more...burning? And more constant. My boob was also sore to the touch on the outer left side near my armpit. It then occurred to me that it sort of felt similar to a letdown when breastfeeding or maybe a clogged duct. I haven't breastfed in over 8 years. So I went to investigate in the shower. I massaged and expressed...a clear (not milky, opaque) orange-y, bright green liquid.

To the urgent care!

Fast forward, the provider did a manual exam and found three lumps (chart says 1cm each) in my left breast. Upper and lower outer quadrants and axillia tail? She also said it was incredibly warm to the touch. Coupled with my increased heart rate, temperature and elevated blood pressure she said she was concerned to do more testing. They took some labs, including thyroid and prolactin, and so far it's all normal. I started an antibiotic for acute mastitis. She ordered a stat diagnostic mammogram with ultrasound and that will be next Friday, Aug 28.

The doctor was very tip toe-y and seemed hesitant to say what we were both thinking. Phrased it as "besides, you know, the obvious it could be other things fibrous tissue, hormonal" blah blah. But maybe I'm being sensitive. She was kind, concerned and reassuring that imaging was the correct move coupled with antibiotics to avoid an access. I have family history on my maternal side of breast, ovarian and cervical cancers (I myself have had 2 leep procesures) and my dad had prostate cancer.

I dunno why I'm posting. Just anxious and hurrying to wait. I'll keep updating my post so hopefully those in similar positions might get some insight.

And my boyfriend is deployed so everything extra sucks...longest "60" day deployment of my life 🙄🙄

Edit for not carefully checking the mm to cm measurement, I apologize in American!

Hand Quilting is the newest obsession!

I have turned the living room into Quilt City...trying to take stock of the progress I've made. Making the Amish hexagon is so easy to do in my down time and so fulfilling when I get a flower made. I just loooooove it.

Primetime, you say?

What a great opportunity for the majority of the country to tune in and see the very real and not at all staged attempt on his life. The one that will justify the "decimation" of our enemies. Seems like that was really the concern last week but it's probably fine.

Fur-ends forever!

Our Molly Mae was a feral cat from a rescue that we adopted when she was about 5-6 months, it took ages for her to come around. The older cat we had passed (about 2 months after we brought her home) and it affected her so deeply. He was her security and she fully withdrew into herself. So....we got her a kitten companion. Even with her mad RBF...she don't play about her baby. She is the best big sister/mama to our silly orange and it was the best thing we ever did for our girl! Her cuddles and opportunities for lovins mean so much more because of her personality. I just wuuuuuv hers!

Mission accomplished!

Our family made the last minute decision to go to a comic con this weekend...my kids were sad we may not be able to dress up for (everyone's!) first time. Cue, mama to the rescue! I thrifted nearly everything and made all of their outfits tonight. Vault dweller for my 13 year old, Ash for my 8 year old and Misty for my 10 year old. I can't wait to see their faces tomorrow and I am so proud of myself for pulling it off!
