CPO inspection after purchase??
I saw an S5 today that’s being sold as CPO, but the dealer said they don’t do the actual CPO process until after it’s been purchased. Another dealer showed me a full CPO report for another S5. Is it normal for the dealer to refuse the CPO process before the sale? They said they never do it, which seems odd to me since they’re selling it as CPO and it needs to be done anyway.. the test drive seemed fine and they’ve agreed that tires and probably brakes need to be replaced, but I’m worried about other potential issues (eg coolant leak). FWIW I didn’t see any obvious signs of a leak, test drive was smooth, the car is only at 50K kilometers with 2 years of warranty left (including the 1 extra year from CPO). Should I be worried about anything here or just trust that the CPO process will be solid?
