Finished typewriter art
I finished my piece much quicker than I thought I would
Made with a rather mysterious Olympia SM2 (I think) typewriter, that was found when cleaning out our garage, Our garage isn’t a typical messy garage used for storage, so we have no idea how it got there and none of our family have any recollection of buying it.
When we found the typewriter it was in rather good condition other than it was so very grimy, and I’m assuming it was because whoever used to own it was a heavy smoker. So I spent my afternoon yesterday siting in the garden cleaning it.
It took a little while to get used to this typewriter, as my usual one (an olivetti lettera 32) broke. But once I got used to the olympia it’s been soooo much nicer. Which has made me less sad about my broken one.
It’s no secret how much I love a good fictional detective, and Curently Gabriel book is one of my favourites and with season 2 of bookish coming out next month it felt rather fitting to do a portrait of him.
I’ve never really tried to do a piece of typewriter art before, I’m so happy with how it turned out. Other than his mouth I just couldn’t seem to get it to look right.
