What do you do when you feel stuck optimizing a Google Ads account?

We all have our routine optimizations: adjusting targets/bids, adjusting geos, reviewing search terms, shifting budgets toward stronger campaigns, testing creative, etc. But what about those stubborn accounts where performance never feels good enough?

What do you do when you’ve gone through the usual optimization checklist and performance still isn’t moving? What are your go-to strategies when you feel like you’ve run out of levers to pull?

Curious if anyone has specific analyses, tests, or less-obvious optimizations they turn to in these situations.

What's your favorite fragrance from a house no one has heard of?

Please describe the fragrance and how you discovered the brand :)

For clarity, I don't mean literally no one. I just mean they're not mainstream, even within the fragrance community.

What do you do with fragrance you never wear/don't like anymore?

Do you sell them? Trade them? Give them away to friends? Keep them on the shelf? Hide them in a deep dark place?

Why do you exclude brand from PMax campaigns?

I view it as an additional opportunity to show a brand search, doubling down on your most relevant searches. I don't really care if a conversion from PMax or a search campaign so I don't exclude them.

What is the downside to not excluding brand terms?

Edit: I already separate brand and non brand keywords into separate campaigns as this is a well established best practice.

What's all the hubbub about YSL Myslf?

First things first, I'm not trying to "ick your yum" if you enjoy it. I just need to know:

Why is the Myslf line so hyped? I've tried different ones 10+ times on paper and on skin and I've never been impressed. It's not bad, it's just painfully boring.

The quality is okay to me, maybe 5-7/10 depending on the day. It doesn't hurt my nose like some other things but I can smell the corners they cut.

Other YSL lines like L'Homme and Y feel far superior in terms of quality yet are cheaper. The Tuxedo line is obviously higher quality but 3x the price.

I don't know, I just don't get it. Every time I see someone hyping up Myslf I think to myself "Really? That's what we're going with?" I feel like I'm missing something.

Do you own testing strips?

It hit me a few months ago, I don't need to own a a fragrance store or be an influencer to buy them. I got a 250 pack for $5 on Amazon and it has fundamentally changed the way I interact with my collection. Easily the cheapest and best upgrade I've bought for this hobby.

No more time spent cutting up index cards, no inks/contaminants to interfere with the smell, easy to test multiple things at once and keep track of which is which, experimenting with layering becomes easier.

So with that said, do you own any? If not, why not? If so, what do you like about using them?
