The bulbs are small and don’t seem to have formed individual cloves. I’m in 7b, planted last fall, and harvested the scapes (for a lovely pesto). These were in a fairly small container. I would welcome any advice on how to get a better harvest next time. Also, can I still cook with these?

When is broccoli ready to harvest? This is getting pretty big, is it time?

Anyone else have to secure their brooder to prevent escapes? I got up today to find four of my five Buff Orpingtons free-ranging in my dining room. Somehow they managed to unzip the side door and let themselves out. Later this afternoon my husband caught them trying to unzip the top. They’re six weeks old.
