URGANT, female finch fluffed up !!

Noticed our female finch is fluffed up, closing her eyes and has her head in her feathers, is she with an egg?! Seriously worried, we've had this pair for a few months, my family has experience with larger parrots

Only noticed this last night but unsure cause I'm at work a lot

Need some help asap

Update : Unfortunately she has passed last night (18.08.26), we did everything we could, gave medicine for sick birds, crushed calcium and kept her warm but unfortunately it was enough. Her mate is sad and has been quiet, but he got to say goodbye to her, I'm absolutely gutted as there had been nothing wrong with her before and then bam she is lethargic, unmoving and not eating. We didn't have time to take her to the vet as our exotic vet travels as they're hard to come by where we live, thanks for all the help

I have no friends

I've come to the realisation I have no friends, no childhood friends or best friends, I'm 22, 23 next month, I talk to my coworkers and people I interact with more than anyone in my life but I don't consider any of them friends outside of work, just work friends. So I have no personal friends.

I'm at work 10-12 hours a day, sometimes less to due my line of work so it's a struggle especially when I have no phone on duty.

None of the friends I made in school, college or university stuck around, it's not for my lack of trying, I get left on read or seen and then I just don't bother, why should I put in all the effort?

The online friends I made faded out as I could never meet them, I only have my family at home but that's family and not friends.

Weekends I dread as I'm alone and have no one to talk to except for family at home,

I'm just so lonely but I'm tired of the effort being all on me.

It's hard making friends as an adult :/

How do you care for your mental health?

I don't directly work for the prison service but work for it in a way, I had a tough day today with seeing something that shook me a bit- just wanted to ask how you officers deal with mentally challenging days with seeing, hearing or being involved in situations and how you keep yourself sane and safe?

What's a day working in cat b like?

I've applied for a position in a cat B mens prison, got my oac next week and I was just curious as to how a day's work goes about, I currently work as a pco so my day to day is different but similar in some aspects as a po-

Now- how many hours is lock up? Does it depend on the prison? What happens when the prisoners are out of their cells? If it's 23 hour lock up, what do you actually do? I hope these aren't too stupid questions 🫣

If anyone can tell me some answers I'd really appreciate it 🙏🏻

How to know if it's for me?

I currently work as a prison custody officer, not essentially a prison officer but I go to prisons daily and deal with custodies at some of their lowest points, I've seen some shit to say the least. I've wanted to become a prison officer for a good few years, since I was in uni, I wanna work and interact with the people in the system and be someone that can help them in a bad time or just be a positive presence around them

I've had some people in my personal life say being a prison officer isn't for me and that it'll drain me- I'm trying not to let it get to me as they haven't seen me work or what I've dealt with, but did anyone else feel that being an officer is their calling? I think it's mine, even though I've seen the bad parts it doesn't sway me from wanting this, any words of wisdom?
