My 5yo broke their ankle and I'm officially out of ideas. Help! 😭
My new 5-year-old recently broke their ankle and will be in a walking boot for at least another 4 weeks.
As you can imagine, our usual screen time limits went completely out the window. But we’ve officially hit a wall I never thought possible: they are bored of the TV.
I'm desperate to find ways to tire out a high-energy 5-year-old who literally cannot do much of anything physical while I'm also trying to work. They're restless, I'm exhausted, and the cabin fever is getting real.
Two things I desperately need help with:
- Low-mobility energy burners: How do you tire a kid out mentally or physically when they can’t run around? Any specific sitting games, crafts, or novel activities that kept your little ones engaged for more than 5 minutes?
- The ice battle: Does anyone have clever strategies to get a stubborn 5-year-old to actually sit still and ice? It's an absolute battle every time.
Looking for your best hacks, sanity-saving activities, or even just some solidarity ❤️
