I'm curious about using a 12V air conditioning system versus a 120V mini split. I'm thinking that going from the 12V solar batteries to an inverter to a 120VAC mini split would be less efficient than just running a 12V air conditioner. Of course the 12V would require thicker wire. Am I overlooking something? Can anyone give ride reports for such a system?
My 650 case GMT got dropped (thanks to an overexcited puppy). After the impact the minute hand pointed at about 20 when the hour hand was at top of the hour. I removed the movement and tried to just gently re-aim the hand. Ended up with the minute hand popping off and I am having a hard time getting it back on. More concerning, though, is that I lost the little "cap" that goes over the minute hand (where the second hand would normally go if the seconds weren't a separate complication). I haven't been able to find it on Vostok-watches24, Meranom, or Ebay, but I don't even know what it is called.
