This is the watch i got from a friend. Is it safe to wear? Im generally paranoic. Can i use it daily?

The cheap paint is slowly disappearing, revealing patches of cheap brass underneath. It looks like a commando watch but probably couldn't survive a shower. I absolutely love it. I wear it almost every time the sun is out — that dial is just perfect.

New, arrived today! A bit of a chore to wind and set the date and time but that’s part of the fun as I understand it with the Vostoks! I like how it looks and feels though.

It took less than a month to arrive from Russia. I loved this dial; I'll be using it as my everyday watch.

Newest Vostok Amphibia, a 120509 from ScubaDudeStore.

Added a few quick dress-up parts, a Milanese watch strap (1mm thick) and a black/red aluminum insert (both from AliX).

Mounted the insert in a deep coined edge bezel from Vostok-Poljot (https://www.vostok-poljot.com/bob)

Really like how it turned out, the bezel and strap dress it up and make it look more purposeful IMO.

I have this watch for about 14ish years. I wore it the first 2-3 and got tired of sending it to the watch fixing guy all the time for inaccuracy and finally the date stopped working. I left it in a drawer. A few weeks ago I decided to give it a shot again, and it is doing surprisingly well. I am constantly checking if it is still accurate (last time it was gaining 2-4 hours a day) . The date still doesn't work but I am afraid to send it for repair, because it is kind of accurate now 😀

TL;DR: I decided to share my love/hate relationship with my Amphibia

P.S. the bezel is not the original. I might swap it with the og one though

[Vostok Komandirski] I bought this pair of vintage Vostok watches from a guy in Ukraine on Etsy. The green one is the "Paratrooper" with the "Heineken" dial from the early 90s transition from USSR to Russia and the other is from the 70s or 80s known as the "Tank Commander" from the Soviet era. They only have 18mm lug width so I put them on bands meant for the Casio Royale for a wider stance on my 7.5" wrist. Along with my Vostok Amphibia these round out the Russian part of my watch collection.

Now I just have to work up the nerve to regulate it.

A few days ago, I bought my first Vostok Amphibia (ref. 420380) second-hand; I received it looking as you can see in the second image. I decided to give it a more original/Soviet look, so I removed the paint from the bezel and swapped the elastic NATO strap for a black FKM one. I think it looks more authentic and less Western now—what do you all think?

Hello guys, just wanted to do an appreciation post of my Vostok Amphibia! I just received a new bezel from Meranom, and I find the combination gorgeous!

The original bezel was metal color and I swapped it for a green/black one.

The grey rubber bracelet adds to the style without adding too much color as it is already colorful enough!
