Taking the lumey with a luminescent strap from watchgecko for the solar eclipse on a remote island beach. Will see how that goes!

Order my first Orient.

Really liked the concept of the mako 40s and been eyeing them up closely until i pulled trigger. Was torn between the white and black dials but figured the black would be a bit more versatile for me as i have enough summer watches. It’s there to join some seikos, citizens, hamiltons and christopher wards. Will be full filling duties of daily casual on different straps.
Can anyone share some strap options / colours for the black dial mako?

Although i have many field watches, this will be my first monocoque, titanium and 300m wr watch.

I heard they have stopped producing them and whatever is left is just old stock being sold. Difficult to come buy in the UK with no discounts or offers on those.

Picked one up this evening whilst i can...

Did a thing today.. liking it

Started disliking the yellow dial on the 650855, thought the case deserves better.
Took the quirky Ratnik (280683) and swapped dials.
The 650 looks more presentable now, and more like promaster tough vibes. Easier to GADA it with a neutral dial and i think deserves its place in the field watch world now.
Easy swap, gasket relube and a quick timegrapher surf. New work watch and a strap monster!!
The 280 case has the yellow dial now. Probably a fun beach day watch.
