Hammondsport NY Sunday Oct 4

Anyone going to or has been to this venue that can give me an idea of what the GA seating is like? I'm thinking just bring a lawn chair but not sure how early I need to show up. I think doors open at 5:00 and show is at 7:00. Seems like a smaller venue so I'm not sure what this scene is like. Thank you!

Blood clots on HRT?

I'm on Combipatch since January. I recently returned from travel and a long haul flight. I now have a red, swollen, painful vein on the side of my knee. I've read that estrogen can increase the risk of blood clots but that in the patch form the increased risk is lower than pill form. I've never had any issue like this before. Wondering if anyone had adverse effects from estrogen related to veins/clots? I went to urgent care yesterday and they were all over the estrogen thing, even though I said it's the patch they said it didn't matter it increases clot risk. Getting imaging done today to find out more but wanted to check on the experiences of those on here. Thank you!

Help please - here now & crutches needed

I am in the middle of our 14 day trip and have developed severe foot pain. Swelling and extreme pain making it impossible to walk much. I've never had this before and don't know what to do. What recommendations are there for seeing a doc and maybe getting crutches or a boot? This is my first time here and I spent so much time planning, I'm feeling so sad and overwhelmed. Also, we're staying in Leicester Square which is a terrible location for this.

I so appreciate any help - thank you.

Windsor & Eton Riverside - contactless?

Hi all, we are visiting next week and until now I was under the impression that our travel from Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside would be a tap in/tap out just like the tube. However, I'm seeing some information online that this is not the case. Can someone clear this up for me? I was thinking we'd just walk into the station and tap at the turnstiles for our platform. Will we need to buy tickets from the machines ahead of time? Thank you everyone!

How early to leave our hotel to make the train?

Since it's our first time in London I don't know how the morning rush hour is, though it sounds hectic. We need to make an 8:20 train to Salisbury from Waterloo Station on a Wednesday morning. Coming from Russell Square, it looks like the 1 and 68 bus would get us there. Citymapper says 20 minutes but I'm worried about full bus and traffic. If it were you, London dweller, what time would you be leaving your hotel in this case? Is a 7:37 bus cutting this too tight?

Edit to add: I've avoided the tube because I'm nervous about changing lines...is it simple enough? This would be our first time changing lines on the tube and I don't want to panic under stressful conditions. Thank you all!

Afternoon Tea & Sunday Roast Feedback

We will be staying in the Bloomsbury area in late July and I'm looking to do an afternoon tea and would like to have a nice Sunday Roast meal as well (not on the same day!). Will be with my husband and teenage son. I've narrowed down to a few options - does anyone have feedback on any of these for me? Cost is a consideration, so I've tried to find afternoon tea that is in the 30-40 pd per person range. Also prefer more casual in nature (not looking to dress up for this).

Afternoon Tea:

Browns Covent Garden

Dean Street Townhouse

Boulevard Brasserie

Roast:

Friend at Hand

Museum Tavern

The Marquis Cornwallis

Thank you! Definitely open to suggestions as well.

Sutton House & Hackney Visit

Planning my first trip to London and am very interested in Tudor history especially. With that said, a visit to Sutton House sounds great as a little Tudor era time capsule. However, it is roughly an hour in transport time from our hotel in the Leicester Square area using public transit so I'm trying to decide if I should fit this in or not. We are staying for 2 weeks so I do have some time to play with, although it's still a packed schedule!

So I'm looking for suggestions of what else of interest there may be in the Hackney area for us to do and if there are some pub/restaurants recommendations in that area?

For anyone who has been to Sutton House what did you think of it?

Thanks very much!

Windsor Castle in July - early entry best? (Plus train question)

Will be in London late July and planning a trip to Windsor Castle on a Monday. Generally, I've read that getting the early entrance is best for avoiding crowds. The website sells 9:30 as the first ticket time of the day (even though the website says the castle opens at 10:00). Would booking this slot and arriving by 10:00 seem to be the best bet to help avoid crowds or should I consider booking a 2:00 and thereby miss the tour bus crowds?

We plan to take the train from Waterloo. Can someone confirm that this allows for tap in/tap out with contactless payment (I've seen conflicting information)? If you were planning on catching the 8:33 am train from Waterloo to Windsor & Eaton, how early would you arrive at the train station? I'm seeing the bus can get us there around 8:15, is this cutting it too close?

Thanks so much!
