What changed after "That Sea, The Gambler"?

So I'm curious if anyone else felt the same way as me. To preface, my wife infected me with Indie Folk music. When I first heard GAI, I was unimpressed. But the more I heard his songs on her playlists, I started to enjoy his sound, and even started a playlist of cozy rainy day songs all centered around his music. But I can't stomach anything on "That Sea, The Gambler". In fact, I don't like The Stable Song, though I want to go find a version created later in his career. The strange thing is, while of course his sound changed over time, by This Empty Northern Hemisphere, just 2 years later, he seems to drastically change his voice and settle into the sound I know him as. Anyone know why the change? Does anyone else feel the same way?

Spotify Update

They showed me some stats since the beginning of my streaming history, apparently Gregory is my most listened to artist.

Not surprised.

I'll Be Performing This Cover Of Master & A Hound! Thoughts?

Hey! I've been playing guitar for about 11 months now and will be performing for the first time. Naturally, I'm incredibly nervous but excited to push out of my comfort zone.

I know this recording isn't perfect, but just wanted to get some thoughts BEFORE I perform incase it sounds awful and maybe I should do a different song lol. Mainly wanting to make sure my vocals are in line, and I'm terrible at judging my own work. Thank you!

(decided I should strum instead of finger picking for my first performance, and I don't hate it)

Amsterdam Live Version Gone Off Youtube :(

There was an acoustic version of Amsterdam that was on YouTube for years and years. I cant remember the title exactly, but it was in a dressing room pre show somewhere. I put it on daily. All of a sudden it's gone. Can anyone help me get the video somehow? TIA!
