Heavy duty jig hooks.

I just recently purchased the Do-it Swimbait head mold and was wondering if anyone uses a strong/ heavy duty hook with this mold? If so what brand and number. If there is a better sub reddit for this question please tell me.TIA

AC help needed.

So, I have an old central air-conditioning unit and I'm afraid if it stops working I will need to get a new one,yes its that old. I'm a construction worker and a job I'm working on has several units they are giving away and they are newer than mine by far. My question is can I grab one of them and have it installed? Does the whole system need to be changed or can I just get one that has the specs close to my old unit? Some pictures of what they are giving away if that helps.

Is it doomed?

I have 2 Autumn blaze maples that I planted as whips. They are growing fine but one of them rubbed up against a metal cage I have around it. The photo shows the wound. My question is will it be OK or should I just get another one. Thanks.

Photo question.

I still consider myself a newbie here and I was just wondering why I can't respond to a post with a picture? I notice some communities allow it and some including this one do not. Why not? I like helping people with visual aids and I think it would be great to see pictures of other people's trees even if it's not their post. TIA

A few questions.

So as you can see from the pictures, I planted my cuttings and have growth coming from two nodes. Two fig plants actually. Do most people cut one off and grow this as a single leader tree or just let it be as is? Also, do I leave the cutting where it is or is it supposed to be buried in soil? I also noticed a few leaves turned a light green at the bottom of the plants over the last few weeks. Is this normal or are they lacking a nutrient? TIA

Cutting scapes out ?

So, I have a visitor to my garden once a year. She is an older oriental lady that is a professor at a local university and seen my garden from a parking lot near my home. We talk about my garden and she noticed I had pulled my scapes on my garlic. She told me I was doing it wrong. She told me that I should use a razor blade and cut a vertical slit in the garlic plant and completely remove the scape. Has anyone ever heard of this?

New to Figs

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and sure I will have many questions. I'm just getting ready to up pot my 2 Chicago hardy trees from cups. Any advice? When should I start fertilizer? Etc. I plan on growing them in pots and over wintering them in my garage. I also have 2 peach trees and an apricot that I just planted this spring.. I'm also an avid vegetable gardener for the past 10 years and start all my plants from seed indoors.

So about a month ago I asked if I should prune my young peach trees and got conflicting advice. I have just let them grow and thought I would ask again. The trees are 4' tall. I would like to know if I should prune now or when dormant and if so how? What should I remove? Or should I let them grow for a while? Thanks.
