[LF] - Waltham, MA - 10-12 Blue Neocaridina shrimp.

Hey lovely people!

A 10 gal dirted, planted tank I set up for blue neos has finally shown not only microfauna but enough plant growth to need a trim, so I can finally get myself some blue neos without worry about a lack of biofilm.

I do not have a strong preference for which type of blue neos - dreams, diamonds, velvets, for all I know there are others - just that they be solid blue.

I'd like to purchase 10-12 to start a colony. I'm in Waltham, MA, and am willing to travel around greater Boston (although I do not want to go into Boston proper if I can avoid it). Thanks for any replies!

Freshwater invertebrate identification request

Hi!

I've got a freshwater tank that I'm letting mature before I put dwarf shrimp in, and these white furry looking things showed up. They don't seem to be able to swim much (if they get caught up in the output of the sponge filter they flail around but have no apparent effect on their movement), and may be detritivores. Any clues?

I'm mostly wanting to know two things: are they going to grow up into something I will need to release outside (ie, insect larvae), and are they going to try to eat my eventual dwarf shrimp?

[FS] Waltham, MA - $20 - Fluval 107 canister filter for aquarium

This is a used - but still perfectly functional - Fluval 107 canister filter that I used for a few years.

I realized I didn't actually need something this in depth for the guppy tank it was used for, and initially got it because I wanted something quiet for my bedroom. It is certainly quiet!

It includes all parts, rinsed in aquarium water in case there happens to still be some beneficial bacteria on them. Some of the parts have mineral buildup which didn't seem to be having a negative effect so I didn't worry about it.

I am also including filter media that I used to replace the finest filter (not meant to be rinsed and reused, unlike everything else). It just needs to be cut - or torn - to be approximately the right size.

I'm hoping someone else can make use of this, so I'm only charging $20.

I'm not sure how much it would cost to ship, so I'd prefer someone who can pick it up. (I reposted because I couldn't figure out how to add the photos after the fact)
