27F New to UWS — Looking for Walking, Workout, Fantasy Football & Pet-Sitting Buddies

27F - Just moved here - ISO some new NYC connections!

Just moved to the UWS and looking to meet some new people / get out there!!

ISO:
👟 A fellow girl walking buddy: would love to meet in Central Park near UWS or Jackie Kennedy Reservoir 1–2x a week to walk and chat! Also down to try running but we would have to build into it lol.
💪 A fellow UWS girl workout partner: I like lifting, HIIT, and pretty much all workout classes!
🚲 Someone to teach me how to bike around NYC: I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing lol
🏈 A fantasy football league to join: this will be year 4 for me and I love fantasy. Bonus points for a league that meets up in person to watch games every now and then!
🐕🐈 Anyone within ~25 min walking distance of Columbia University who wants a dog walker/pet sitter! I am set up / verified on Rover and looking to build some regular clients. I have a full time WFH position in tech, but love animals and enjoy pet sitting on the side.
🐱 Someone local to the UWS who wants to swap occasional cat sitting services: I’d love to connect with someone where we can help each other out during the occasional weekend out of town and become the consistent/established person to take care of each other’s pets.

is an NYC move still worth it?

I (26F) have done 7 trips to NYC in the past year and love it. I love the energy, the sense of community, talking to strangers, the spontaneity, not knowing who you’ll meet or where you’ll end up when you walk out the door, etc.

Here’s the thing: I don’t drink, don’t really party, I don’t like spending much money shopping or eating out. I have a horrible sense of style. I don’t have a musical talent or act. Im not an artist. I will say that i am extroverted and make friends easily. — at the end of the day, Im just a regular person who loves big cities, human connection, being a part of a community and walkability. My company is based in NYC. I am fully WFH with the option to work in office a few days a week if I move if I want.

As you all know, it’s a very expensive city. I have an apartment option lined up that they’re just waiting for me to sign for. The rent is at the top of my budget.

I’m just wondering, in your opinion, is living in NYC and paying NYC prices worth it if you don’t really do any of the above?
