There are no such caususes for men.

See first comment for Irish Times article which mentions the manosphere and tradwives.

Thoughtful article by female columnist in Irish Independent: “Claims of ‘misogyny’ in the Dáil [Irish Parliament] were wrong – women don’t need to be wrapped in cotton wool. Fractious debate over the recent motion of confidence showed that standards need to be better enforced, nothing more”

From a few months ago but article itself is pretty timeless.

“There’s a habit now of reaching for the strongest label available the minute something annoys us. You see it all the time – words like “racist”, “far right” and, in the past few days, “misogyny” being used quickly and loudly.

The trouble is that once you go straight to the heaviest accusation, the conversation ends there. It stops being about what actually happened and turns into a row about the label itself.”

There is an all-party women-only caucus for members of the Irish parliament (for both chambers) so I wouldn’t be surprised if that is bonding female politicians together and helping them support and promote female/feminist causes and politicians

Sunday Independent (Ireland) article on the femosphere. Not nearly as critical as it could be, nor as critical as articles generally are on the manosphere in the Irish media, but some bits are refreshing to see, and it might start some conversations.

Extract:
“The femosphere is, of course, the female answer to the more notorious manosphere, the online network of communities that circulate misogynistic content and radicalise disaffected young men. Contempt for the opposite sex, received wisdom dictates, is mostly a male problem.

“So the results of a recent survey carried out in collaboration with the British publication the New Statesman come as a surprise. It found that 72pc of men hold a positive view of women. In contrast, only 35pc of Gen Z women have a positive view of men.
Online, a new generation of experts and influencers has sprung up around the idea that “men are trash”.

“They have created an online ecosystem of commentators vying for the attention of a growing female audience, eager to consume the narrative that feminism has trapped women in a false consciousness that is keeping them exploited and unhappy.”

‘Societal response’ required to fight epidemic of violence against women, says Taoiseach [Irish Prime Minister]. Such hype/language could potentially lead to too much focus on violence against women, when a lot of deaths are likely very difficult to prevent.

Article says 40 women have died violently in Ireland in last 4.5 years [since Ashling Murphy’s death on January 12, 2022]. Irish population is 5.4 million with just over 2.7 million females. So on average approximately 1 in 300,000 females will die violently in a year. Most men are not causing, directly or indirectly, violent deaths of women in Ireland.

“Pending Corruptions of Justice at April 2026.” Men's advocate Dr Rick Bradford draws attention to some of his previous blogs before describing some proposed changes. Very UK focused. Not as thorough or as exquisitely argued as some of his other posts. I will post a few extracts in the comments.

Introduction:
“I take the opportunity to summarise some of the recent, and pending, corruptions of justice being enacted by Parliament and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). I address in detail below the proposal to do away with trial by jury in many cases and the proposal to create “specialist courts” for domestic abuse and sexual offences. But first a quick round-up of other corruptions of justice on which I have already written articles.”

"VAWG [violence against women and girls] and Misogyny Everywhere": men's advocate Dr Rick Bradford looks at some of what the UK government is doing. Very UK focused and unfortunately very long, so I would recommend some of his other blog posts first but as always both well researched and insightful.

Full introduction:
This government (and the last) are so concerned about violence against women and girls (VAWG) that the matter is being addressed in a bewildering number of different pieces of primary legislation. Here I pull together the recent vehicles used for that purpose. I address the following in turn,

Scottish Misogyny Bill (withdrawn)

Online Safety Act (and Ofcom guidance)

Protection from Sex-based Harassment in Public Act 2023 (and Public Order Act 1986)

Crime & Policing Bill (in progress)

Terrorism Act 2000 (and Prevent)

The actual empirical evidence about harassment and misandry cf misogyny.

The prejudice against men and boys is palpable throughout. Things are now so bad that even The New Statesman has realised that misandry is the real problem: Why do young women hate men?
