PACIFISTS, what’s your opinion on Donald Trump and how he should be handled?

I swear I’m not trying to stir anything up 😭

I’m going to mention something very controversial; not just the president himself. So today is Trump’s birthday (He’s 80 now) and a lot of people were disappointed he hasn’t, well, kicked the bucket. Obviously, a pacifist would most likely disagree with that sentiment but that got me wondering, what do other pacifists (or people who prefer non-violence in general) think of Trump and how a person like him should be dealt with?

Me personally, I don’t wish that; wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want him to go to jail which would still bring him out of office. I hate him as much as the next guy, but the reason there are people who wish that he’d💀 isn’t necessarily bloodlust but because it would, obviously, remove him from office. Legal consequences would achieve that perfectly fine.

However, how could citizens realistically oppose him? Let alone, through legal, or at least non-violent means? We can back up democratic government officials, but legislators and Supreme Court Justices can only do so much. Not to mention, protests (in my opinion) are practically useless in this case. You’d be no better off walking into the Oval Office and asking “Hey Trump, can you stop bombing Iran 🥺.” And so, some people out there consider violence to be an acceptable option, and a few: state-wide violence/civil war type stuff. So how do you—a pacifist or generally pro-nonviolence, believe Trump can be handled while retaining your principles?

Honestly, I don’t care if he’s removed unless he’s going to jail. Even if he’s out of office, JD Vance is right there to continue his job. But I’m happy to hear what you think if Reddit doesn’t snipe my account for “inciting violence.”

LET ME GET A FUCKING TURN MAGGOTS!

Oh, this fight isn't so bad. I guess I overreacted:
The ever-so-humble Mama Maggot:

This isn't all, they kept getting extra turns besides the ones they already. Cue next round, when I finally get to move...stunned. I then proceeded to my ass JUMPED. These cats survived a near-death experience in both the desert and bunker, triumphed, and the next day they get ROCKED by Guillotina. Please never come back, you got your revenge motherfucker😭(Third photo unrelated)

The outrage over the game Party Animals is genuinely awful

I hoped I’d never post an AI subreddit again—as tiring and tribalistic as AI discourse is. But holy hell, this situation is actually terrible to witness. For context, the indie studio of a game called Party Animals published an AI video contest on X for a monetary reward. People didn’t just criticize the devs, which they are free to do; they outright turned on the studio. Content creators pulled out of collab deals and people started leaving negative reviews on the GAME, which has no usage of generative AI itself. I heard a YouTuber describe the move as “lazy, out-of-touch, and disconnected”

Like, I’m sorry the developers in *China* are unfamiliar with the common *American* online social taboo of generative AI. There’s no worldwide, established narrative that AI is a harmful affront to humanity. From what I’ve personally seen, opinions on gen AI are mixed outside of America, maybe leaning slightly more towards negative. But with that, then of course there are people that are rather curious and supportive of the technology than wholly against it. In fact, there seems to be a growing trend among Chinese game studios to incorporate AI one way or another into their games (Take Hoyoverse, Neverness to Everness, etc). Now, I have no idea why they went with an AI competition specifically, but that doesn’t negate the hours upon hours of human input in terms of coding, in-game art and creativity the developers wholeheartedly put into their game. They are artists themselves—no less and no more than any other artist. But nah, fuck that, they support AI (didn’t even use it in the game) so they’re terrible people and lazy. It’s genuinely heartbreaking to see these developers get trashed and discarded by their community because they happen to view AI positively.

When it comes to AI discourse—I’m tired of how people seem to think they are objectively right and anybody thinks otherwise is objectively wrong and/or evil. This isn’t about whether generative AI is acceptable or not. *AI is one of the most complicated technologies and dilemmas of current years.* Of course views at the global scale are not one-sided. Mob mentality shit like this is why I avoid mentions or mentioning of AI like the plague, and I’m disappointed something like this was an exception.
