I designed this generic 250th anniversary celebration tee. My neighborhood goes nuts for fireworks. Just going to sit in the driveway and sell them to my neighbors. Ordered a dozen. One of the nicest looking prints I’ve gotten so far. What do you guys think?
I made T-shirts for years with a vinyl cutter and heat press and also did some screen printing. I was never good at graphic design though and now I have gotten a lot better. Been building up a design catalog and have been super stoked about the idea to open a POD site. Now, after reflecting on my recent sample orders, I have serious doubts about this is a viable business. While the print quality is amazing, the alignment is horrible. They seem to be centered in the middle while skewed to the left or right. Mostly because the person who put them on the DTG machine did not shake out the shirt first to make it even. (when you pull shirts out of a new box they are often creased on the shoulder seem, but rarely even. This is a simple fix that nobody at printful seems to bother doing.)
Not to mention the printing times are ridiculous. I’m waiting on an order to be fulfilled that was placed on the 8th. The estimated delivery time is the 18th to the 20th. They only started making it today the 17th! Realistically won’t hit the mail till tomorrow, If I’m lucky, probably Monday. This is the second order in a row that took this long to make. Is there only one guy in the warehouse? Does he clock out at five and not work weekends? In this day and age, for customers, waiting three weeks for a T-shirt is an eternity.
Are they having staffing or management issues? Is this the norm? What has been your best and worst experience?
