Load out for Family

Load out for Family

Full loadout for the family, but with different priorities depending on prep time.

Priority A group - non-negotiable, grab and go weapons. No time to grab everything.

  1. Rugar Harrier AR-15 with holosun magnifier and red dot combo.

  2. Sig Sauer P320 XCompact

  3. Marlin 39A Golden

I'd spread the load between myself, my wife, and my son. I have Viktos Chest Rig to carry 3 magazines, and I'll have a map and compass in the pouch. I also have a range belt that I am building out. The ideal set up with be 2 extra pistol mags, 1 extra magazine (maybe), IFAK, and drop pouch. It currently has a knife and holster.

Priority B - We have some advanced warning and can load car with extra guns, ammo, and food. Everything in group A is included plus:

  1. S&W Model 629 with a 5 inch barrel and 2 speed loaders. This would become my side arm

  2. Remington 700 in .243 Winchester - mostly hunting and MAYBE longer distance defense.

  3. High Standard Shotgun - It has a double feeding issue, which, if I can fix before the end of the world, might move it to group A.

Not pictured, food and packs for bugging out. Filtration systems and water for a few days. Crowbar for melee. I also inherited a TON of ammo from my prepper grandpa.

If we can get out of our town, we may last longer. We have family and friends that live in pretty rural areas. Ill most likely die tripping over something right at the start, so hopefully somebody can make use of it.

Vasectomy Follow-Up

Well gents....I'm officially shooting blanks. We waited the full 12 weeks and for science, we had about 20 rounds. We had planned for more but some sicknesses worked through us. Mom-in-law also just moved out after 2 years of living with us (that's a whole other story), so we are excited to explore the house after the kids fall asleep.

We used the Fellow kit if anyone was wondering.

Uzo Aduba as Agatha

I know she is described as older, and I only watched snippets of the show, but I always pictured Agatha as Crazy Eyes from Orange is the New Black

Masters Program Workload

Hey GIAC peeps,

I am in the process of applying for the MSISE. I did the graduate certificate in cybersecurity engineering and completed the comprehensive core exam, so Im used to taking GIAC courses and something like the comp exam. Outside of those, what do the other courses look like, are they self-paced and doable if I allote 8 - 10 hours a week, or should I give myself more time. I am trying to create a loose schedule to follow since I will be doing the program during work hours and with a baby.

Thanks!

Companions of the Hall vs The Fellowship of the Ring

3 on 3, Drizzt Do'urden, Bruenor Battlehammer, and Wulfgar vs Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. Guenhwyvar is off the table. All fighters are in their prime.

Edit:

For those unfamiliar with the Companions of the Hall, they are a group of adventurers from the Forgotten Realms (DnD Universe) they retook Mithril Hall. The three mentioned above are:

Drizzt Do'Urden - A drow ranger who was trained by the greatest drow swordsmen to ever live (his father). He turned from his people and spent about a decade surviving in the Underdark with Guenhwyvar, a magical panther, as his only companion. He eventually made his way to the surface and has been performing heroic feats since then. Some of note, defeating dragons, demons, hordes of orcs and goblins, as well as fighting other drow.

Wulfgar - A barbarian warrior from Icewind Dale who wields a magic hammer. He is an expert fighter and extremely strong, like crushed a dudes head strong and killed the dragon Icingdeath.

Bruenor Battlehammer - Dwarven fighter and eventual king of Mithril Hall. He has fought alongside Drizzt in many of his battles.

Got the snip-snip today

Got the snip-snip today 3 months after number 2 was born. While I dont want another kid, I am little sad the era is over.

The procedure took like 20 mins, didnt feel much at all. I think the worst pain was the numbing shot on the right side, that was it. Talked to the doc about biking pretty much the whole time.

Laying on the couch was some frozen corn on my sack watching Aliens while the wife has the kids. Pain is starting to flair up, but it is managable.
