Newbie question - timing of the kuzushi and the execution of the throw

Let's say you're attempting an Osoto Gari on your randori partner. Would you initiate the kuzushi first with your grips, then the step entry, and finally the reap execution? I've been somewhat doing the kuzushi and the entry at the same time, but felt a bit weird and didn't work well.

Dojo Talk Tuesday

I am pretty sure most of you have experienced something similar, but I was curious how you guys approach these things in general.

  1. Your training partner's strong body odour.
  2. Shows up to a dojo as a member, and you realize the vast majority of the class are first-timers, who come in for their first week literally.

O Soto Gari - Chest bump and calf to calf?

I was wondering if you guys would usually drive straight into your opponent and give them a chest bump, a secondary force to get him off kuzushi, when doing an O Soto Gari?

The other thing is, I've heard various ways of doing O Soto Gari, as some would say go calf to calf, and sometimes the back of the knee, which one do you guys prefer?

Reputable Judo club in north of GTA, Toronto (Richmond Hill/Vaughan)

Looking to get into Judo, but I have a hard time finding a reputable place that's close to me here in north of GTA (Vaughan/Richmond Hill) area.

I've seen some places like Judokan Academy and another one in this area but they rarely get any feedback or reviews.
