Little Tokyo to Coliseum for America250 today: Metro E Line vs. Uber/Waymo?
I’m heading to the LA Memorial Coliseum tonight for the America250 event. I currently live in Little Tokyo, and my friend and I are having a debate about the best way to get there and back.
- My friend's plan: Take an Uber or a Waymo both ways.
- My plan: Take the Metro E Line since it goes directly from Little Tokyo/Arts District to Expo Park.
I’m highly skeptical about rideshares for an event of this scale. I feel like finding a pickup spot and dealing with the post-event gridlock and surge pricing will be an absolute nightmare. On the other hand, I know the E Line will be packed like a sardine can, but at least it's a guaranteed, predictable ride home.
For those who regularly attend massive events at the Coliseum: How bad is the rideshare situation afterward? Is it worth trying to get an Uber/Waymo, or should I convince my friend to just suffer through the crowded Metro with me?
Thanks in advance!
