Is this bike cursed?

I purchased a Motobecane Fantom Cross Uno (single speed gravel bike) less than a year ago. I swear the thing is cursed.

Started off when it came. The rear hub was bad. The company replaced it, but that took time.

I must admit it sat for a while as I rode other bikes. However, I decided I wanted/needed to start commuting on it again. Took it out for a shakedown ride this past weekend...and thought I wasn't going to stop going down a rather steep hill. So, I pulled the brake pads (it has mechanical disc brakes) and sanded them to deglaze them. I then rode it around my neighborhood and bedded the pads in.

This morning I pulled it out to ride to work. Got about a mile from home, and the rear wheel locked up. Granted, I probably overtightened the rear axle bolts or something related to the brake pad job, but still...

I ended up walking/dragging the bike back home and disappointedly drove to work to avoid being late.

This bike doesn't have 100 miles on it. Is it cursed? Should I carry on and repair (and hope for the best) or cut my losses? Honestly, I really enjoy riding it when it's working...the problem is when it's not working.

What are your thoughts? Ever had a cursed bike? Do I need to perform an exorcism on it?

Single and loving it!

Single bladed, that is.

What's your favorite single bladed traditional knife? I'm leaning towards a single bladed trapper pattern (or maybe a full-sized sodbuster), but I'm not entirely sold on it yet. I figured I'd ask the hive...

Thanks in advance!
