GEM vs Undergrad med as 2nd degree past 2027
So with the changes to degree funding, any form of medicine as a second degree is going to be fully funded by the government/NHS bursary, as opposed to only GEM with the current system. With funding no longer preventing us from doing undergrad med as a second degree, the question then is, which option is better? Sure GEM is a year shorter, but the degree is significantly more difficult to get into. Wanting to apply to medicine next year after my biochem degree but really not sure which is the better option now with these funding changes.
