Nobody here needs to see the spaghetti that was the main. But for any Aussies who love a good ol’ snot block- give the custard & Jatz combo a try 😍

TENS machine appreciation!!!

Oh my gosh, I never believed this would work for the random cramping/period-like pain I have on & off all month. Sits under clothes discretely, doesn’t cause burns like a hot pack does & means I stay away from the opioid-based painkillers unless it’s really necessary.

Have also found that inflammation has slightly improved since starting taking a THC/CBD/CBG oil (for anyone wondering if medical marijuana may help)! Apparently the CBG (non-psychoactive) is the main component that helps reduce inflammation, so you may not even need to be prescribed anything with THC in it if that worries you

Absolutely terrified for my lap next month, but am glad to have found some pain management tools to use at home in the meantime ❤️

Gyno review- Dr Debby Utama (Melbourne)

For anyone looking for a gyno in Melbourne- just gonna copy/paste the review I left on Google 🥰 no surgery yet, but I feel incredibly heard even for no DIE showing up on a specialist ultrasound. Am awaiting a quote for surgery & will definitely share my experiences with her after that. Just noticed she doesn’t have any other reviews anywhere online & would love to spread the word about her ❤️

“Dr Debby Utama has been exceptionally compassionate, thorough and honest in the two consults I’ve had with her. I’ve been seeing her to investigate possible endometriosis and have found her to be an excellent specialist so far. She explained that laparoscopic surgery may not be necessary or provide relief, but left it up to me if I’d still like to have surgery to diagnose it/give me answers (and of course excise any endo if found). She explained all the possible complications thoroughly, took her time in the appointment to answer any questions (I had a lot) and was realistic in what outcome I could expect. She took the time to explain what symptoms of mine could be PMOS-related vs potential endometriosis. She also said “we are treating it as an endometriosis diagnosis even without needing surgery”. So validating to hear in a healthcare system that often dismisses women!

I will absolutely update this review post-surgery. It is hard to find a gyno who actually listens and I feel reassured that I’m in the right hands. It is also hard to find an endo specialist who knows what they’re doing- Dr Utama left me feeling confident that she will do the best job possible and is experienced with endo. I hope this review helps even one woman with their decision to see Debby 😊

I should also add that the reception staff are lovely and make a possibly daunting experience that much smoother!”

Wait times for surgery? Melbourne

Hey all! So I’m 28 years old & finally seeking a diagnosis after suffering from excruciating, heavy & irregular periods since puberty. Worsening gastrointestinal symptoms have gradually become a problem over the last 7 years or so. I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS since 15, so am admittedly worried that any symptoms I think are endo are actually just the PCOS. So, like most, am anxious that no endo would be found even on laparoscopy. Especially because some symptoms have improved since changing birth control pill (still get period-like cramping several times a week & all the gastro symptoms 🤪)

I’ve had a DIE scan, which came back negative (besides the obvious PCOS). My next gyno appointment isn’t until early October, but I’m guessing she’ll want to order a MRI next before discussing surgery. I have a few questions, if anyone here could please help answer some or all of them!

1- does anyone have any experience with Dr Debby Utama? I can’t find any reviews but her profile explicitly states she’s experienced with PCOS, endo & a few other conditions, & that she’s received specific training in laparoscopy (doesn’t specify if she’s experienced in endometriosis investigation/excision tho)

2- how long is the waitlist for surgery via the public system? Can anyone attest to the quality of care/service provided by Monash Health? Especially if doctors are experienced enough to accurately diagnose endo. I don’t want to wait for months only to have the surgery done by someone who isn’t specialised in endo/is less likely to find superficial lesions. Ideally I want to avoid feeling invalidated or like the results aren’t even accurate in the first place

3- how long is the waitlist if paying out of pocket privately? Would I be better off doing this if it’s financially viable?

Thank you in advance & feel free to recommend any specialised gynos if you’ve found a good one in Melbourne!
