I recently bought a Dewalt orbital sander from Acme tools. Used it for the first time today. While sanding, I noticed that it was only removing most of the material within the middle third of the 5” surface. The first picture shows what it looks like on a scrap piece of wood in two passes. When looking at the backing pad there is a noticeable bump in the center of the pad. This is causing the uneven sanding I would assume. The third picture is to show the dust accumulation in the center of the pad.

Has anyone encountered this before? How would I fix this? Or do I need to send this back for replacement?

I am looking at a few F150s. I like the room they have and have researched the reliability. My main concern is reliability and safety as I have a family. I don’t do a lot of heavy hauling or off-roading, but I do pull a trailer every now and then and haul lumber, furniture, etc so I am fine with a V6. These are two of what seem to be the best deals I’ve found near me. Both clean CARFAXs.

2023 F150 XLT 3.5L PowerBoost Full-Hybrid V6. 10 spd, 4WD. This seems to be a previous rental vehicle.

2014 F150 King Ranch 3.5L Ecoboost V6, 4WD.
Do I spend up some and get the 2023, or save on the 2014? I have quite a bit of positive equity in my current vehicle and am hoping to have around $16,000 trade value.

I have also looked at Rangers, Nissan Frontiers, and Tacomas but I am 6’3” and will need to put a car seat in the back so I’m unsure about fit. Any advice or opinions would be great.
