I'm trying to time the market and I've failed.

I like making changes to my investment distribution. It has only hindered me so far, and I think just setting it and forgetting is the best strategy, but I just find joy in making adjustments and then learning from my mistakes. I am currently going with 33% C, 34% S, 33% I because I have no clue which will do best in the next few months. Here are the distribution changes I've made so far... obviously trying to time the G fund was a stupid mistake:

Thoughts crossing my mind at the moment.

Humans are one of the most unfortunate living beings. Earth is a certain level of hell, and the mind is the greatest trap.

What factors determine that a post office is over/under staffed?

What are all the factors that determine if a post office is over/under staffed with clerks? If I was to guess, the first two things would be TACS and clerks making moves on the scanner at the proper times. Are there any other factors?

Here is my USPS short story

I've been with USPS for almost two years, and have been a career employee for 16 months with my own bid. I throw packages in the morning, and then work on the PO box section, then I work on the window when it opens. I am passionate about doing the best I can at work. I feel blessed to be at the office I'm at, and yet I want to make more money than clerks make. Since my 18 month restriction is coming up, the first idea that comes to mind is for me to go custodial so I get my foot in the door for maintenance. My attendance record is flawless for the two years I've been with USPS. I have 18 years of experience web coding, so I may try to get a tech job at USPS, but it sounds like there is a lot of competition. Does anyone have any advice for me? Training tech is one craft I think I would do well at, but it's probably difficult to get that position. I want to find out more about unusual USPS crafts.

I think a regular customer is attracted to me.

I'm a window clerk. Today a regular customer who was with her mom told me, "I was just telling my mom you are my favorite" (window clerk). Forgive me for my ignorance in what I'm about to ask, but is it okay for me to give her my phone number the next time I see her (from a USPS perspective)? Is it too soon to give her my phone number? (I know this question is more appropriate for a dating subreddit, but I'll ask it here).

I've been in an experimental mood and a friend sent me this meme after hearing my newest song.

Am I required to write a statement as a witness?

I am a clerk at two post offices (the same postmaster for both). I have a bid at my main office, and then occasionally work at the other office. The lead clerk had told me, "make sure to be back to the main office by 10AM". At about 9:48, I have about two more minutes of work (and my main office is only 5 minutes away). There were only three of us in the office... me, a supervisor, and a city carrier. The supervisor and the city carrier start arguing, and the supervisor is giving her an instruction on how to do a swing, and she's not following instructions, and then right as I am about to leave, the supervisor tells me he needs a statement from me.

I am not familiar with my contract, and don't know USPS rules very well. Am I required to write a statement? After I wrote the statement, I asked if I could leave to work the window at my main office, and then supervisor said, "No." He wanted me to be there as a witness because they were still arguing... My second question is am I allowed to leave even though he said I can't leave? Could I be disciplined for not following instructions?

What's The Most Time You've Spent On One Song?

TL;DR: I finally discovered a song idea I am highly inspired by and may spend many days, or even weeks working on the song. What's the most time you've spent working on a single song?

Yesterday I asked my friend if he wanted to try to collaborate on a song for the first time. My first idea was to write a song about an herb garden using ChatGPT. I then sent the lyrics to my friend, and he came up with a beat for the song which I found to be inappropriate for the lyrics. So then I decided to write lyrics to match the beat, and I then realized I was creating a song I am highly inspired by. I've published over 100 Suno songs, but the song I'm working on right now is the first song I've ever spent more than one day working on. I'm currently only on day two of the song, and already it's one of my favorite songs I've created. I've been using Grok.com to create the lyrics. Tomorrow, I plan to go line by line through the lyrics and make edits until I'm satisfied. At the very least, I'm spending another day on this song, but I could imagine the possibility that I spend a long time on this song, and once I'm fully satisfied, I may hire someone to professionally recreate the song. I apologize for not describing the song, but I like the idea so much I want to keep it private until I finish the song.
