Anyone with experience/recommendations - comparisons between AMC and SP breast centers? I had recent lumpectomies at SPH and considering getting a second opinion about recommended “standard of care”, i.e. next phase of treatment. Also considering NYC, willing to travel there for opinion, but not ongoing treatment.
I had initial bilateral lumpectomy three weeks ago, and re-excision on left side to improve margin (which was clear but microns). I probably should not have told the surgeon that I wanted half-mile margins. This hurts more than initial surgery. Not a lot but pretty constantly. Is this typical of re-excision?
They sent me home in a compression bra, L size 38 band, when I typically wear larger and when the surgery drugs wore off last night it was quite uncomfortable, digging into my armpits. So to sleep last night, I switched to a front close XL purchased at local department store. Not as much compression but wearable. Nurse said that was ok.
Interested to hear other experiences with re-excision. Have Rx Naproxen every 12 hours and Tylenol in-between.
