Hello everyone,

I am planning to upgrade our current DevOps environment to the latest Version (Upgrade path is given by Microsoft Docs).

Unfortunately, we don't have a second environment to test the upgrade so maybe someone of you has some experience.

What we do have is that the Machine where our Azure DevOps instance is running is fully virtualized. We can do snapshots and restore. (HyperV)

Our instance unfortunately still uses XAML Builds for an legacy application that is still used by a lot of customers and is Business critical. These are sre not easy to migrate and are highly intertwined with business logic and some other dependecies. In Short: A Nightmare. We also use Classic Pipelines and Releases.

I know that XAML Builds are deprecated, but i inherited the Environment and the old engineer that build the whole Thing is not in the company anymore. So it is still kind of a "blackbox".

We could just snapshot the Environment before the upgrade and rollback. Never done it, but i think it should work if shit would hit the fan.

Does anyone have experience with Upgrading to a newer Version and XAML Builds?

What would be the best approach here?

Hello everyone, i just got my Spark2 and am a bit confused on which Level i should set my Knobs on top of the Amp Like Gain, Bass, etc.

I switched through the presets on the amp and they were so different in loudness and If i tried some Sounds from the App it was all over the place.

I want to play at lower volumes to not anger my dear neighbors ;)

Ja, wer kennt es nicht, die fahrende Shishabar. Ich finde aber, dass ein beleuchteter Innenraum, vorallem bei Nacht, extrem nice ist und das Auto aufwertet. Ich gucke persönlich sogar beim Kauf, ob diese installiert ist.

Ich finde auch digitale Displays besser als gurkige Analoge.

ich möchte lernen E-Gitarre zu spielen, bin aber aktuell etwas überfordert wie ich lernen soll bzw was ich überhaupt lernen soll.

Ich möchte auch keine Zeit verschwenden und würde daher gerne einen Gitarrenlehrer haben, der mir einen strukturierten Plan geben kann.

The previous administrator is no longer with the company, and unfortunately, there is no existing documentation regarding the backup strategy. It appears that no automated backups have been configured via the Administration Console so far.

​Environment Details:

​Version: Azure DevOps Server 2020.

​Scope: Single server instance containing one Collection with two active projects.

​Content: Includes source code (TFVC/Git) and several CI/CD YAML/Classic pipelines.

​Status: The environment is live and business-critical.

​My Goal:

I want to use the built-in Scheduled Backups tool within the Azure DevOps Administration Console to create a backup plan, including an initial full backup and subsequent scheduled increments.

​My Concerns:

Since I am new to this specific instance, I want to ensure that enabling the backup plan won't inadvertently disrupt the production services or lock any databases in a way that affects the pipelines or developer access.

​Specific Questions:

​Impact on Live Environment: Does the initial full backup via the Admin Console trigger any significant downtime or "Read-Only" states for the collections?

​Permissions: Besides the service account having sysadmin rights on SQL Server, are there any easily overlooked folder permissions required for the backup network share?

​TFS Integration: As there is still legacy source code on the instance, are there specific metadata files outside of the SQL databases that I need to manually include, or does the wizard cover all necessary components (databases + reporting + encryption keys)?

​Common Pitfalls: Are there any known issues when running the backup wizard for the first time on a "neglected" 2020 instance?

​I want to avoid breaking anything while securing the data. Any advice or checklists from experienced Azure DevOps admins would be greatly appreciated.
