im a freshman and I start next Tuesday. Am I looking at the wrong place in canvas? I don’t see any to-do’s or any notifications indicating I need to do mandatory training in the app. I’m lost. I’ve reached out to my advisor but I haven’t gotten an answer yet.
If I previously was a BA and switched to task, am i able to still cover BA shifts since I’m experienced? My manager randomly said no since im task but i previously have covered BA shifts before… so is that a new policy? I thought you were able to cover a different positions shift if you were already experienced.
So about 1 week ago on Monday I had an early tasking shift (6am-11am) and my alarm never went off on me. So unfortunately I slept through my entire shift and woke up 30 min after at 11:30am. I immediately called and apologized and had told the manager who picked up the phone what had happened, she said thank you and that she will let my OM know because that’s who I was supposed to be there with at 7am. My OM did end up calling and texting me when I was still sleeping around 7:30am. Which then when I had woke up and realized, I texted her back and apologized and told her the situation as well.
After that day, it was my last shift until Saturday and Sunday. So I had 5 days off and on Thursday I got a call from my SM explaining to me that my absence that day had resulted in termination because of exceeding the point number. Which was understandable but genuinely my alarm never went off on me, so I had asked for some leeway and some flexibility and if she would be able to let it slide this one time. She said she would have to talk to HR about it and to let her send an email and she’ll follow up with me.
Friday night comes around and i still had not heard an answer regarding if I still had a job or not, so I called the store and asked her if I’m still supposed to be coming in Saturday morning at 5am. She had said yes and that when she gets an answer she will tell me. Once again, Saturday night i texted and followed up one more time and asked if i should be planning to come in Sunday morning as well. Again, she said yes and that it’s the weekend so HR will prob get back during the week. I worked 2 early weekend shifts (truck and adset) and realized I had been completely taken off the schedule, which im not surprised but I just dont get why I had to come in for those 2 days then.
Fast foward to now, tomorrow is Friday and I still have no answer. Im unsure if I am employed and I am scrambling for a new job because I need a paycheck soon.. I dont know what to do?
