Does anyone remember the days the fandom thought they would flop?

And they all came top 5 🇮🇹

How well do you think Sweden would’ve done in 2020?

I was personally a huge fan of The Mamas and Move, but I think it at best was gonna do a lower top 10 unless the juries really got behind it.

The televote score would’ve been similar to Sweden 2019 and Austria 2018 I reckon, so then it would all depend exactly how much the juries would’ve given them — and John and Cesar did really well the previous two years

I think it’s kinda universally agreed upon that Switzerland, Bulgaria, Italy, Russia, Lithuania and Iceland would’ve all been somewhere in the top 10 that year, so then it would’ve been four spots left

My prediction would’ve been anywhere between 5th and 12th place

Why did Australia (2022) not do better?

Sheldon is still very much in to Eurovision, and I think it’s very likely he’ll represent Australia again one day as he’s said multiple times after 2022 that he’d do it again. Apparently "Not The Same" was only the right song for him at the time, but he wants to show a different side of himself

That being said, didn’t he just last year say the mask was just one big gimmick to gain attention?

Anyways I think only 2 televote points was very harsh… but I suppose the staging just didn’t match the song? It was grand for the sake of being grand. Imagine Lucio Corsi doing a big, fancy staging for VEUD

I loved Adrien Brody in King Kong (2005)

Imo he was a gift as Jack Driscoll (the other half of Bruce Cabot) and carried the film together with Naomi Watts

Unpopular opinion: these two didn’t have much chemistry in the movies

It could have something to do with the limited screentime, but since I saw the film and whenever I watch Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2, I never find them to have much chemistry in the scenes they have together

What did people think of this casting choice?

Seeing that the character was made based on Bruce Cabot

I don’t remember reading anything about Peter Jackson headhunting anyone for this role so maybe Kyle Chandler had to audition for the role

Anyways I loved his performance in the film, one of the best

Why don’t some people like this casting choice

Jack Black as Carl Denham is a casting choice I’ve seen fans been divided on. Some love him in the role, some don’t

Personally this was the first film I saw Jack Black in (and to be honest haven’t seen him in that many films since then), and I enjoyed his performance a lot

You’re coal miner in D12 or working in the orchards of D11. How would you react to see Finnick?

Imagine you’re a starving and dirty worker, and then you see this handsome, preening, well-fed man on the TV screens every year. I can’t blame Katniss to think what she did

I think my reaction to seeing him could’ve been something like Gale’s. If we had his POV, I think his thoughts on Finnick would’ve been absolutely wild to read

How on earth was this allowed in a family-friendly show like Melfest

I know they toned it down in the final performance, but it was so unexpected seeing it in the semi performance

The dancer taking the hands down there and Robin as well before looking up and smiling into the camera, all while singing those lyrics

Sam Claflin turned 40 yesterday + "new" still!

Happy belated birthday Sam! Lionsgate also posted a "new" still of Finnick for the occasion, but here we can also see a bit of the other D4 victors that were present in the BTS material of the film 🎞️

The photo of Finnick here was the one they used in the lead up to the film 🎥

One of the cutest moments last season 🥺

This was when he hugged his mom and said "mummy" 😭

I also watched when she found what remained of Lucerys and it was so sad too

These moments remind me why I’m in favor of Rhaenyra 🥺

She was so underrated

I guess the song and performance just didn’t resonate with enough people to do well, but I still think it’s a pity she didn’t do better. There are probably flaws one can point out here, but so is the case for other Italian entries that did well. To be fair, flaws can be pointed out for most performances in Eurovision to say what x shouldn’t have done well

People say she seemed nervous, but I don’t agree with that one at all as the first thing she does is smiling as she invites you into her garden. She seemed so sincere while performing the song

And the song has been a regular on my Spotify for ten years strong now, and I never have a problem when I listen to the live performance of this song. The only thing I would point out is that she didn’t go for the high note in the final chorus

I guess the staging wasn’t to everybody’s taste either but it’s FAR from a mess that other Italian entries have been

2016 Italy is one of my favorite songs of theirs

Can’t wait for more Ormund Hightower

He just had some minutes of screentime but that was enough to make me want to see more of him

I love those fancy, smug and rich and smarmy lords lol. And Ormund’s got drip

Now that Jason Lannister is gone I’m glad we’ve got Ormund

Imo Sweden 2017 is the biggest Melfest downgrade ever

*I tried to make a video where I compared the two performances from Melfest and Eurovision

It’s not so much about the staging visuals for me here, but mostly the fact that Robin Bengtsson seemed to lack the confidence in Eurovision that he had at Melfest - imo he really sold the song in Sweden and it was my favorite entry that year until I saw the performance in Kyiv

I know pre-recorded vocals weren’t allowed back then im Eurovision, and I think that massively hurt the performance. Even Robin seemed aware of that while performing the song. But even then, I thought he sounded much more confident in Melfest in the parts of the song where it was just his voice. Not sure if he could’ve used autotune though

Also the camera angles were rather poor in Kyiv so it really seemed like Robin and the treadmills got swallowed by the stage. It looked empty. He also seemed a lot more stiff in his movements at Eurovision than in Melfest, so it all just ended up very underwhelming for me

The whole thing shares a resemblance to Felicia this year who I also thought seemed much more confident in her vocals and movements in Melfest than in Eurovision, but Robin was a much bigger downgrade imo. It’s a pity cause the Melfest version of this song is one of my personal favorites of all time

I know Sweden’s been getting a lot of "robotic" comments over the years, but this is the only performance imo where the performer was lacking. I think the "robotic" thing could apply to other Swedish contestants as well, but imo the difference is that they sold their songs much better and looked as if they enjoyed themselves on that stage
