7 Hour Trial Shift?

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well today.

I’ve been on the job hunt for a while now, and landed two trial shifts at two different places.

One was today at a cafe, the other is tomorrow at a gelato place. My trial shift at the cafe today was pretty standard, 3 hours paid.

However, my trial shift tomorrow is looking a little strange. they want me to come in from 4-11 pm. I’ve never heard of a seven hour trial shift before. is this sketchy? they’re a pretty popular establishment so i’m not to sure if this is out of the blue or if i’ve just never had to do a trial shift of this length before. it’s likely paid, but i haven’t asked because i do not want to look rude lol.

Has anyone else had long trial shifts like this? did you end up staying the full 7 hours?

Love this genre of character

excited to have another character with the Ojou Ringlets! I wonder if she’ll fall into the trope or subvert it…

Fire Emblem has come a long way

With the buildup to FW’s september release, i’ve been taking a look back at the previous titles in the series. I love the older titles, and have spent time with each of them at one point or another, but my first foray into fire emblem happened during the 3DS era which makes me look back on those games through a nostalgic lens. Don’t get me wrong, even when i first played those games i had my qualms with elements of the writing, and gameplay mechanics, but looking back on these titles now after three houses i realized how little emersion i felt especially regarding the world-building. many characters are one-note, or even flat out annoying. not that three houses is the golden standard for video game writing, heck it honestly has quite a few pitfalls, but i definitely feel like a significant amount of progress was made and that also continued over to Three Hopes.

Of course, I also loved the writing in the Tellius games, and even a game with a rather simple story like FE8 was well executed in my opinion. I definitely don’t mean to say that the older games in the series aren’t well-written or complex.

To me, and many others, Engage felt like major step back for the series. I want to approach it with some leniency considering it is an anniversary title and it served as mindless fire emblem fun (the sort of game you can turn on after a long day and not think too hard about) but i still felt pretty underwhelmed.

I guess what im trying to say is that im pretty excited for FW, and that the story and characters seem compelling and interesting from what we’ve seen so far. It felt like the Sothis-verse had so much more to explain / offer so i’m definitely glad to see what events unfold in this game.

anyways let me know what you guys think, this is sort of a general post just to get my thoughts out there since i’m so excited :)
