just finished princess kaguya - whoa that was dark - spoilers

Lol and here I thought Princess Kaguya would end the same way as Ponyo did 😭

BOY WAS I WRONG. I really was hoping for a Ponyo type of ending for Kaguya but instead I got stalking, sexual assault, lobotomy, and kidnapping. 🫣

Those Moon people were SUPER bad vibes!! To hell with consent I guess?!?!

I was totally unprepared for how dark this movie was. I've seen others describe it as a horror film and I couldn't agree more. A tragedy. From the stalking and eventual sexual assault by the king, to the lobotomy (the blanket that steals your memories), and finally the kidnapping by the awful moon jerk offs, I was baffled and couldn't believe how angry I was walking away from it.

Yes, I agree with others who've posted that all the men were shit in Kaguya's life. Dad was a jerk off from day 1 selfish asshole who drove Kaguya back into the arms of her abusive moon jerkoff captors and mentally abused Kaguya to the point of her threatening suicide. AND THEN Dad didn't give a Flying Feck he just let that asshole king stalk Kaguya in the palace and almost rape and kidnap her. The King did successfully assault that poor girl, with dad's help of course.

Other asshole men included the asshole who Kaguya knew as a kid and who already found a different wife and child and, as others have written, was just totally ready to elope with Kaguya and leave wife and child behind. Asshole!!

Mom wasn't perfect either, as she could have stood up for what Kaguya wanted more rather than just letting husband have whatever he wanted.

Mom, dad, and Kaguya never should have left the village. Kaguya should have stayed and married her childhood lover and been happy, like she saw in her prophecy before she and childhood sweetheart flew together. I get it, she and childhood friend were probably soul mates or whatever, but I can't excuse cheaters who can't at least set up wife and child for safety and security before following their new romances. It's 2026 and cheaters don't get a pass in my book anymore. Be ethically non-monogamous or go home.

This movie shows how horrible rape culture really is, how much society doesn't give a Feck about consent, especially for young adopted women or women in the foster care system, especially for women trying to escape abusive toxic dynamics who are forced to pick between only bad options (moon captors or earth rapists). How women with special abilities or intrigue are particularly targeted and abused.

DAYUM. I sat down expecting another feel good Ghibli movie and instead I got something on par with Grave of the Fireflies! I guess I learned my lesson folks - don't expect only feel goods from this studio!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

That said, I am really glad I watched it. The recommendation came from this sub, so thanks everyone. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anarchist glow up

New video out today!!! Today we discuss the end of capitalism and the beginnings of our collective GLOW UP!! Topics discussed:

  • Should we prepare for the best case scenario and/or the worst case scenarios? Pronoia vs. Paranoia.
  • Challenging the idea that glasses / corrective eyewear are forever.
  • Cute makeup, nails, and self-care tips with awareness of the collective consequences of buying from huge evil corporations and the sustainability problems like cheap plastic nails.
  • Challenging and recognizing privilege as part of the imperial core, exploring questions like is growing our own food the best case or the worst case scenario? It's a question that involves understanding privilege.

Vent: Anarchist vs MAGA family (drama)

In this video, I get to vent. It. All. Oooout!!!

An ongoing dispute between me, an anarchist, and the MAGA blood relatives that I live with.

Includes discussion of DIVISIONS OF LABOR, BOUNDARIES, WITCHCRAFT, and VIOLENCE.

People I cite include Kat Blaque, Reese Ireland, Sheraseven, Andrea Dworkin's famous quote "I favor violence", Peachkka, Mexie, Positive Leftist News, and Nicole from Pynk Spots.

Of particular interest to anarchists: (1) the politics of the home. (2) Patriarchal relations that often go unchecked and unanalyzed in anarchist spaces.

Anarchist review of "Police are our Friends" children's activity book

Let's read and review this pro-cop children's book together......

Part 1: we read it and react. 🤮 so many american flags

Part 2: we rewrite it so it actually gives children good advice on how to deal with police 😈 how about we learn self defense and good judgement instead of calling the cops??

Let me know your thoughts in the comments! How would you teach your children about the police? What anarchist, pro-liberation, anti-racist resources do you know about that are age appropriate for children????

Share the video with any squishy liberals who still support the police. Like and subscribe for more cozy anarchist content from your host, Xylo. ❤️‍🔥

Blocked for being "too political"

So......I got booted from a certain Karaoke Discord after receiving 1 warning and no grace period, just blocked immediately. After their rules said NOTHING about political content. Just some random mod removed my post and said no politics this server is just about music. Yeah.....everything is politics bro.

Anywhooo. If you block me for being "too political" haha, expect more Bibles to start disappearing from your local Little Free Libraries. But you didn't hear it from me.... https://youtube.com/shorts/ebzJ9cxaJ2c

Pro-cop pride event in my town 😡

Did you know the cops were first established in the U.S. in order to track down and re-enslave Black Africans that had run away???

The cops serve the elite ruling class white supremacist capitalist imperialist state, and have always and will always torment torture and assault Black and Brown folk and the working classes.

Share with any white gay people u know who still support the cops, or basically anyone who supports cops, regardless of race class gender. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/wzIQhGRwL_E

I really think Chris, and not Jaden, died at the end of Smithereens

My conclusion is based on the analysis that

  1. u/OkDimension826 wrote in their comment to this Smithereens ending sequence original post.
  2. the parallel that many other redditors have made that both Mom and Chris got what they wanted in the end.
  3. On my own analysis of the CEO, Mr. Bauer's reaction.

I think if both men survived, the CEO, Mr. Bauer, at least, would have breathed a HUGE sigh of relief and happiness. Instead, Mr. Bauer looked angry/upset before going back to his meditation. Because he didn't breath a HUGE victory sigh or high-five his assistant Ms. Tipi, I think at least Chris died. Jaden might have died, too, but I think Mr. Bauer would have been really upset if that was the case. The fact that Mr. Bauer looked regretful, as other redditors have said, but not totally crushed, suggests to me that Chris was killed but Jaden wasn't.

Furthermore, the cops' reaction also suggests that Chris was killed, but Jaden wasn't. The cops' reaction was satisfied, or "like a release of tension" as other redditors have said. The cops would have been WAY more upset if they had accidentally killed Jaden. But no, they weren't upset, they were satisfied and relieved. They knew they would be hailed as heroes for killing the kidnapper Chris and saving Jaden. We saw almost no remorse or grief from the cops after the shot was fired, but there was a significant pause as if something big had happened, and that's when I think they realized they had killed Chris.

Most other posts I've seen suggest apathy from the strangers checking their phones, suggesting the outcome doesn't matter and that it's all "confetti" from social media. I appreciate this take, but I don't agree with it. I think it's actually quite clear who was shot and killed. I saw grief from every single one of the strangers who saw the news. If both men had survived and Chris was in custody, I would have seen a little bit of celebration, but there was none. To me it seemed like all the strangers were upset by the news, and chose to deal with the grief of Chris' murder by cops in their own ways.

u/OkDimension826 did some amazing detective work in the comments section of this original Smithereens ending sequence post. They found a thumbs-up to one social media post on a girls' phone. A girl who had just seen the news. I mean, if both men had survived, then that thumbs-up could have just been happiness at the fact they survived, but again, I don't believe they both survived mainly because of Mr. Bauer's reaction. Instead, I believe that u/OkDimension826 found a post where someone was happy the cops had killed the kidnapper.

Let this be a reminder that cops are unjust. (All cops are B***rds) (ACAB). We shouldn't be thumbs-upping when cops murder and kill with abandon. I really appreciate the grief we got to see in the ending montage of this episode of Black Mirror, because it shows that *most* people aren't going to celebrate the cops murdering people. Most are going to grieve.

Let this be a reminder that we need emergency responders that could have responded with CARE to Chris rather than with deadly force.

Thanks all for reading.

New! Fun Kat Blaque and Sheraseven compare / contrast video

Did you know Kat Blaque and Sheraseven share some interesting similarities and differences? Both are anti-patriarchy, but what about class? To what extent do we tell the truth when relationships involve reparations? Find out in today's video!

https://youtu.be/UWAyFu7wEtE

P.S. This is my first post in this community! And I'm not sure if it follows the rules. Can you let me know in the comments if anything looks off to you? Thanks and much love - Xylo
