Optic delivered failed: your take on the Cadillac brand itself?
Hey guy!
I was super excited of taking delivery of a 2026 Cadillac Optiq, in Ontario (Canada) last Friday, but finally I cancelled the deal, because the car was disclosed as new with less than 10 km, but finally had 600 km-ish and was marked as a “loaner”.
However that is not my main issue: long story short, the dealer forged my signature since I was to sign and accept everything on the day of the delivery.
They used a forged Power of Attorney to emigrate my vehicle (trade-in) out of province (I am from Quebec) and proceeded on registering the car I was buying to my name, by another forged signature on the deal summary, all while I had not signed a single document. That leaves me without a vehicle since Friday, while my car is technically no longer registered to my name, although it is still in my garage. It is also no longer plated to my name/number and is now considered “out of province” by the provincial vehicle registrar. All without a single signature of mine!
That being said, I am first off mind-blown by the dealership’s illicit transaction, but I am also quite sad since I was quite excited of finally owning a Cadillac, coming having own many Audi’s, and coming from a family who strongly stands by the four rings.
I was wondering, based on this sub: do you like your Optiq, and the Cadillac brand as such, enough that you would give another dealership a chancei to properly represent their brand, or am I dodging a bullet and should stay away as far as possible from
Cadillac? Naturally, I am quite hesitant of giving them a chance, judging on the experience I am currently living with this Ottawa dealership that has been in business for many, many years.
