I first came across this quote during my elementary school days.

To the students of this generation: School can be tough, and learning new things isn't always fun or easy. But the knowledge, skills, and experiences you gain along the way will be worth it. They can help you succeed, grow, and become a better version of yourself.

Don't take your education for granted. It's one of the best investments you can make for your future.

Resident cats of Yabu, UP Town Center

Antukin daw kasi, heheh. :)

I had my blood sugar checked for a year.

Ever since my checkup in June, I've been monitoring my blood sugar every day. It has helped me become more aware of the foods I should avoid and the choices I need to make for my health.

Last October, my doctor advised me to start taking insulin. At first, I had a hard time accepting it. I couldn't help but think of my mom, who passed away from complications of diabetes. She was also on insulin, so hearing that recommendation brought back a lot of memories and fears.

Over time, I realized that acceptance is an important part of the journey. These days, I feel much better. I still experience that "electric" sensation from time to time, but it's nowhere near as frequent as it was last year. I'm grateful for the medication and the improvement it has brought.

I know I'm still far from normal, but that's okay. The fight goes on, one day at a time.

It took a lot of hard work to get it done.

With all the work I've been doing lately, I've never had time to make a journal. I'll put a lot more on that.

I did a commissioned artwork way back 2021.

Someone asked me to create a Latin version of the Nicene Creed in 2021. At first, the client and I had a good conversation. But as time went on, I realized that it was not easy to do—especially the capital “C.” I asked the client if we could increase the fee, but she accused me of cheating because, according to her, I did not follow through on our original agreement. I received many harsh words from her, and in the end, she decided not to buy the piece from me.

In 2024, I posted it in my Facebook group and told everyone the full story behind it. Eventually, I was able to sell it for the price I truly wanted.

Eh may kokontra.

I used to be interested in typewriter scripts in 2019. Seven years have passed, and I can see a lot of improvement in my practice. The screenshot is from a friend of mine whom I met in person in 2024 at a fountain pen meet.

I remember that in the 1980s and 1990s, before Copperplate became widely popular, Italic was also in vogue. It was easier to write than Copperplate, which required practicing many oval shapes.

I should have done this in November 2024, when we came from Taiwan. As the saying goes, better late than never.

Getting back into using the Speedball A-2 nib—still feels pretty great after all this time. Just taking it slow and enjoying the process of bringing it back into my lettering routine.
