Turkish airline cancelled my flight scheduled for February 2027 due to operational reason?

Just curious did anyone buy this ticket in advance and did this happen to you also? will there be more risk of cancellation?

Marriage notification timeline & document questions (Irish + non-EU Stamp 4)

Hi all,

My partner and I are planning to get married at the registry office in September next year, on our relationship anniversary. The plan is to do the civil ceremony first, then organise a separate, intimate gathering with family afterwards.

We'd heard the waiting list can be 6+ months, so my partner emailed the office a few months ago with our questions. Someone rang back to say they'd add us to a list and let us know — but we haven't heard anything since, and we still don't have a date.

For context: my partner is Irish and I'm non-EU (Stamp 4), so I understand I'll need to do a separate interview. A few things I'm unsure about:

- Would the interview happen on the same day as the notification appointment? (We asked but didn't get an answer.)

- Do I need a single status letter? Some non-EU people have said they weren't asked for one.

- My birth cert needs to be certified by my home country's government and then by the Irish embassy there. The embassy isn't in my city, so I'd either have to fly to the capital or post it — which adds even more time.

- What would you recommend overall — should we ring back and try to lock in the marriage notification appointment, the interview, and the civil ceremony date all in one go? Or does it not work that way?

Has anyone been through something similar? Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks!

NDLS license nightmare - anyone successfully complained?

Passed my full driving test in March, applied for my license the same day and paid €65. It's now June. Still no license.

The short version of what followed:

- Letter kept getting returned, I received zero notifications each time — I only found out because I rang to chase it myself

- When I did ring, I was sometimes told it hadn't been 10 full working days yet and to wait and call back

- This cycle repeated multiple times: letter sent, returned, no contact from NDLS, me ringing to find out, being told to wait longer

- Eventually told to check with my local post office. Postman confirmed he doesn't use eircodes at all, and asked if the block name was on the envelope. It wasn't.

- Rang NDLS to add the block name. They said they can't — I'd have to submit a change of address online. Online portal threw an error because my address is already "correct" on their system.

- Contacted NDLS online — told I'd have to go in person. I asked could you really not just press a button and get a letter sent?! No..

- Went in person today — told to select "replace lost or stolen license" and pay €35, plus get a Garda declaration form signed and posted to Cork. (I am on my way to do this)

- Asked if this fee could be waived since I never received the original. Was told to ring up and request a note be added. Gave up and just paid.

- Worth noting: In between this NDLS did successfully send me a letter asking me to contact staff to verify my address — which I did. That letter also didn't have the block name on it, yet it reached me fine.

For context, I live in an apartment block with postboxes for all units at the ground floor, I've stuck my name and eircode on my postbox, and I receive letters and parcels from my bank and other senders with no issue. So the address works — something specific about how NDLS was printing the license envelope was causing it to be returned.

So I've now paid €100 total for a license I've never held in my hands. NDLS knew the letter was being returned repeatedly, never once contacted me about it, and when I did reach them I was stalled further. At this point the process has failed completely on their end.

Has anyone been through something similar — and if so, should I file a formal complaint directly with NDLS first, or skip straight to ombudsman.ie? Not sure if I need to exhaust internal complaints before the Ombudsman will take it.

Question for singer songwriter

New here — curious if anyone's been in a similar situation with AI music tools?

About two years ago I started writing my own songs — lyrics, chords, the whole thing. I'm not very good at guitar (no fingerstyle, just basic strumming), I also did get my first batch of singing lessons few years ago and my vocal range expanded a bit as a result.

Recently I discovered SunoAI and uploaded one of my recordings (vocals + guitar) to see what it would do, and it turned out amazing, e.g. the voice, the arrangement, drums, piano etc

From there I also discovered that people are publishing AI music through DistroKid just a few days ago, so I gave it a shot with two of my songs converted via SUNO above. Then today I was thinking I actually want people to hear MY voice. I was thinking should I take Suno's instrumental arrangement and record my own vocals over it then publish.

Problem is, I feel like now my voice is a bit weak compared to the AI version. I'm thinking about going back to singing lessons.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?! Or anyone that has any advice ?
