I am waiting to hear back from a company I would love to work for. I also just got a job offer from my second choice company and they are asking for a start date. Should I call the first company and ask for an update? They seemed like they really wanted to hire me (my would be manager is a former coworker who was gushing at my performance to his boss when they were both interviewing me) and today is the last day for the range they gave me to hear back from them. Should I give the second company a tentative start date and then make the 'sorry I am actually going with a different opportunity but thank you' call if I do get an offer?

Kicking myself because I thought I took a picture of the book!!

It was a paperback with a black spine and an orange creature on the top (looked kinda like a dancing fairy). The text on the spine was also orange. 99% that the first sentence of the back of the book was '(fmc name) was born in the human realm but is sent to the fairy realm...' I think the title of the book was 3-4+ words and the cover was minimalist with black background and orange text. I might be wrong ahout the cover and the back of the book might have said fae realm instead of fairy realm.

Its not cruel prince/acotar, I dont think it was between two thorns but thats the closest I could find (if anyone has more pictures of the orange version of that books spine I can confirm it).

Edit: also 99% sure the title did not have the word fairy or fae in it. I didnt know it was going to be about fae until reading the back. It also seemed to follow a more modern naming convention but I sadly don't know when it was released other then it being in paperback.
