I borrowed the tiniest bit of my daughter’s Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% three days ago to prevent a pimple that was starting. Applied a lentil size amount two times, about ten hours apart and now have this burn/allergic reaction. It feels very dry, itchy, warm, numb today. I’ve been putting Cerave cream on it and last night Vaseline as well.

Is benzoyl peroxide just far too harsh for older skin (I’m 48)? Or do people frequently become allergic to it? I guess I’m just wondering if this is common.
