I had some free time (and free will) to make this little chart today.

Going through the manga to collect all these honestly made me appreciate Aida's art all over again ❤️ There are so many little facial expressions that I normally wouldn't pay much attention to, and putting them all together really made me realize how much personality Aida put into every character.

Anyway, which character do you think is the most expressive?

Personally, the characters I find the most interesting and enjoyable to look at are Hanako, Nene, and Akane. These three have an expression for everything 😂 Their reactions can be so exaggerated sometimes, but somehow they always fit the situation perfectly. Like, yes, that's EXACTLY the face you should be making right now.

On the other hand, the characters I found the least expressive were Tsukasa, Hakubo, and Sakura.

Sakura wasn't too surprising since being nonchalant is basically her whole identity. Hakubo is an "oni," so it makes sense that he lacks of "human" expressions.

Tsukasa, though, is a much more interesting case. It's not that he's an unexpressive character at all. Quite the opposite, actually. Tsukasa has a lot of expressions, but they're usually chaotic, mischievous, or straight-up manipulative. What he lacks are the more ordinary or vulnerable emotions. Even when he's angry, he's often surprisingly calm about it. And trying to find a genuinely sad or devastated Tsukasa was the hardest part of making this chart. This boy didn't even cry when Kou told him that his own brother was going to kill him in the future 😭

However, I don't think that Tsukasa is incapable of being emotional. He's actually a very sensitive person who takes things to heart. The problem is that he never learned how to express those emotions properly, so he chooses to bottle them up instead. I believe there are certain "trigger buttons" that can make him finally let those emotions out.

And one of those buttons was pushed in the newest chapter, which is why we finally got to see him on the verge of tears. I was so happy to see it because we finally got to see him act like the 4yo boy he is. I really hope we get to see more of these "buttons" being pushed in the future, because I want to see more of Tsukasa's vulnerable side.

I had some extra time on my hands today, so I thought it'd be fun to make a little chart about the characters. This time, I decided to do one about their love languages.

>Just a little disclaimer: this is based on what I've noticed from the manga and, ultimately, my own interpretation. So I could definitely be wrong about some of these!

Anyway, if you're not familiar with the term, love languages are basically the ways people tend to show affection to others and the ways they like to feel loved in return. They are not limited to romantic relationships. In fact, they can apply to all kinds of relationships, including friendships, family, siblings, etc.

There are five commonly known love languages:

• Acts of Service
• Physical Touch
• Gift-Giving
• Words of Affirmation
• Quality Time

A person doesn't necessarily have just one love language. Someone can have multiple, and their way of giving affection can also be completely different from how they prefer to receive it.

Giving vs. Receiving

For this chart, I looked at giving and receiving separately:

• Giving: How does this character tend to show love and affection to others?
• Receiving: What kind of affecion seems to make this character feel loved and appreciated?

I also tried to look at the bigger picture rather than just individual moments. Just because a character hugs someone doesn't automatically mean Physical Touch is their love language, and giving someone a present doesn't necessarily mean Gift-Giving is their strongest way of showing affection. What matters more to me is whether there's a recurring pattern in how they express affection or respond to it.

And to keep the chart from becoming too crowded, I narrowed each character down to their strongest love languages. Basically, I picked the ones that stood out to me the most based on their actions, relationships, and overall behavior.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Do you agree with the chart? I had way too much fun putting this together, but I'm sure I could've placed some characters in the wrong categories.

Just realized I haven’t posted in a while, so I guess it’s time to start my post streak again with a little bit of angst :)

Do you guys think they’re completely doomed? Like, there’s genuinely no way for them to ever be together and happy? Or do you think there’s still a tiny chance that they could somehow get their happy ending together?

Personally, of course I want them to be happy together. They both clearly love each other so much that they’ve taken that love to such an extreme. One of them sacrificing himself for the other, while the other keeps trying everything he can to save him, only to eventually destroy his own life in the process.

With all the effort and love they’ve poured into each other, it just feels so unfair for all of that to amount to nothing. It would feel so cruel if they still ended up losing each other in the end.

But man, their fate is just so cruel 😭 If we want Amane to live, Tsukasa has to be sacrificed. If we want Tsukasa to live, Amane might eventually die from his illness.

So while I really want to hope that they get their happy ending together, I also know there are so many hurdles standing in their way that it’s hard to imagine them actually getting there. If nothing can change this fate, then… what are we even supposed to hope for?

The only possibility I can think of is if the theory about the entity being the one who caused Amane’s illness in the first place is actually true. If that’s the case, then maybe there’s still hope that defeating the entity could somehow change their fate.

Well, anyway, even though I know there are probably more signs pointing toward them being doomed than getting their happy ending, I still want to believe with all my heart that they’ll be happy in the end. Call me delusional or whatever, but as long as the story isn’t over yet, there’s still hope, right?

I’ll deal with the emotional breakdown when we actually find out what happens later on. That’s a problem for future me. But for now, I choose to believe they’ll be okay because I need to protect my own sanity somehow haha

Took me a while to gather all of these. I probably mixed up a few pictures with the wrong colours, so don’t mind me if you spot any mistakes haha. I was slowly going colour-blind after looking through so many of them.

While gathering these, I also realized that Aida seems to love using blue shades in her art more than the other colours! Maybe it's her favourite, or maybe she just knows that blue looks really good with TBHK’s aesthetic.

I was going through the pilot chapter today and noticed something I somehow never paid attention to before. The two girls spreading rumors at the beginning look quite similar to the former Hanako-san.

I know it could just be Aida using a similar character design and there's nothing deeper to it, but wouldn't it be interesting if there actually was? It would also be really cool if the main story brought this idea back somehow. The idea of having a former Hanako-san is not impossible at all because in real life, the urban legend of Hanako-san was already circulating in Japan since 1950s (probably before Amane was even born). So who's to say there wasn't someone else taking on the role at that school before Amane?

Anyway, this got me thinking about a very random theory. I don't believe this 100% myself, but I think it's an interesting possibility to explore, so I'm just gonna throw it out here haha.

Let's assume for a moment that the former Hanako-san really existed.

So, what if Amane actually ate the former Hanako-san, and that's how he ended up taking over the role?

We've already seen something pretty similar happen with Mitsuba. After Tsukasa "created" him, Mitsuba wasn't strong enough to take on a proper role by himself. He then ate No. 3's heart and was able to take over his position and power. So that got me wondering if Amane might have gone through something similar when he became Hanako.

Because both Amane and Mitsuba were originally human. When a human dies, they become a normal ghost, not a supernatural right away (this was explained in Chapter 91). We already know the process of how Mitsuba became a supernatural, but what about Amane? How exactly did he go from being a normal ghost to becoming a supernatural known as Hanako-san?

There's also the fact that Amane died at home, not at school. So there's no obvious reason for him to suddenly end up haunting the school toilet (let alone the GIRLS' toilet), and take over the identity of a supposedly female ghost.

That's why I suggest that Amane might have gone through a similar process to Mitsuba: by eating another supernatural.

This is not really a foreign concept in TBHK. Besides Mitsuba, we have Nene as another example. She became half-supernatural and gained the ability to turn into a fish because she swallowed the mermaid's scale. Teru himself also used this method by putting the oni's finger on the pizza, and he even verbally confirmed that consuming a supernatural can indeed cause a human to become like one as well.

So Amane should have gone through a similar process just like the other characters in the series. He needed to consume another supernatural to become one. So who else would make more sense for him to eat than the former Hanako-san? By consuming them, Amane could've easily inherited their role. And wouldn't that make a lot more sense for how Amane, a literal boy, ended up taking over the role of a supposedly female ghost?

Anyway, I know there's still a lot of holes in this theory. Like what is Kami-sama's role in all of this, and who actually brought Amane's soul to the school in the first place. There's also the question of whether the former Hanako-san from the pilot is even still relevant to the main story, and whether there are other ways for a human to become a supernatural that we just haven't seen yet.

It’s the toilet trio! OMG I miss them so much 😭💕

I found this sorter on X/Twitter and immediately had to try it out. I’d say I’m pretty surprised by the results!

My Top 5 are 100% accurate for me. No. 6 – 10 are pretty interchangeable depending on the day, but I’m actually kinda surprised that Teru made it into my Top 10 while Natsuhiko didn’t. Maybe this sorter knows me better than I know myself lol 😂

The World Elephant Day is celebrated every year on August 12 🐘

Anyway, why do you think Tsukasa likes elephants? I have a little headcanon about it.

We know Amane loves dinosaurs, right? So I've been thinking that maybe Tsukasa's love for elephants started because they were the "opposite" of Amane's favorite thing.

Or maybe... because Amane claimed dinosaurs first.

When they were kids, I can imagine them playing pretend together all the time. Sometimes they would play pretend as animals, and whenever they did, Amane would always insist on being the dinosaur. But he wouldn't let Tsukasa be one too. You know how little kids can be petty sometimes because they don’t want to share their favorite thing? Like one sibling going, "I want to be Blossom, the pink powerpuff girl!" and then the other sibling has no choice but to be Bubbles or Buttercup.

So I can totally imagine little Amane going: "No! I already picked dinosaur! You pick another animal!"

And little Tsukasa probably argued with him for a while before eventually giving in and choosing an elephant instead.

And somehow, it just became his favorite animal forever.

Of course, this is just a silly little headcanon with zero evidence behind it, but I think it's a cute possibility. 😂💕
