I (28M) told my parents that I want them to divorce and I'd rather they k*ll each other if they don't divorce

My parents demanded that I show up to their place for my birthday, so I did. Free food, right? Ehhh

But as soon as I came to their place, I knew they had an argument. For the record, my parents have had a strained marriage ever since they immigrated to the United States. Oftentimes, the tension would be felt by my sister and I whenever we'd come home from work or school, and it was a huge reason as to why I moved out.

Ever since I was a teen, they've poured all their marital problems onto me. At first I'd be unhappy because it often meant they wanted me to pick a side. Now I'm either angry or checked out. I really don't care if they get divorced. If anything, I want them to. But they don't because of shitty traditions and also they are too cash-poor to even live on their own

My dad decided to be super passive aggressive about what happened before I arrived, which was about an irresponsible purchase of a car my dad didn't need, and vented to me loud enough for my mom to hear. I told him that I don't care and that we should just eat dinner asap.

Because my parents don't even sit next to each other, I ended up being seated in between them, and they squabbled the entire time at the restaurant for my birthday. By the time we got home, they still argued and I was literally in between the two of them. The tipping point was when they asked me for my input and I just lost it

I forgot what I said because I was just so tired, but the main thing I remembered saying was:

"I DON'T CARE. FIGURE THIS OUT YOURSELVES. IF YOU DON'T, GET A DIVORCE OR KILL EACH OTHER!"

I grabbed whatever I was packing and quickly headed out because I knew this was a very shocking moment for all of us and sped off in my car.

For the record, my parents have a good idea that my sister and I are very checked out of their marital problems and I've shut them down on venting their issues to me only for them to say:

"What's the big deal? Every married couple fights"

Literally treating us like we are stupid and naive. We ALL know that married couples fight, but this is next level

Who else applied to be a Transit Police Officer?

I've kinda always wanted to be a police officer so this came easy to me, but who else applied?

"Attention Passengers, we are holding for two minutes for space at Union Station"

Okay I get that there are legit physical constraints for trains at Civic Center to get to Union, which is why end up waiting. However sometimes, it does feel a little out of hand, because the clock feels slower as the doors are open while the train is parked at the station

Is there a way for LA Metro to fix this?

Do you guys have time to go to the gym?

I'm a bodybuilder who is taking his time before deciding to send in my application for LA Metro PD and Los Angeles PD, and I'm wondering how often do you LEOs go to the gym, or at the very least use the fitness centers in your stations if you have them, and do you guys struggle to make time?

Submit public comment to support fare enforcement to their Operations, Safety, and Customer Experience Committee Meeting for May 21 @ 1pm

A number of us have seen some actual fare enforcement on our trains recently and I think that if you want to see more of it, we should submit public comment to encourage them to keep it up, and even refine a proof-of-payment policy for today's needs.

Their item number for General Public Comment is "#40, 2026-0354." Include that and label the email subject as "General Comment"

Here's what I have wrote:

Good day,

I and some other riders have noticed that TSOs have been boarding our transit to check our TAP cards with a card reader system on an issued device. I would like to say that I support this and hope that the TSOs keep this up. With that in mind, I hope the LA Metro Board will consider having a refined Proof of Payment policy akin to the SF BART so we can account for fare enforcement efforts with TAP Plus rolling out, mobile wallet users, as well as ash-paying bus riders as well

Thank you

With more instances of actual fare inspections, we should let the Metro Board know we support it via public comment!

We dealt with over a decade of organizing against fare enforcement, code of conduct enforcement, and fare hikes, and we have seen the results of it. To push the pendulum back to some semblance of rationality like fare enforcement, I think we really should start submitting live or written public comment

I know that some of us feel strongly about this but worried about lack of follow-through, but with the uptick in sightings of fare enforcement by the TSOs, I think this is a good opening to keep this momentum up

I think this is super noteworthy to mention here. This morning, TSOs boarded the B Line at Hollywood/Western and they did fare enforcement WITHOUT stopping the train. They used their phones to scan people's card to check for payment. A big caveat is that they mainly checked the physical cards and that's it

Still though, that is a major improvement over what typically happens, which is people using blank plastic cards to pass the visual tap card inspection, and the officers stopping the train

The only other issue I had is that they were a little inefficient with the checks. Instead of one officer on one end and the other officer on the other end checking the tap cards and meeting in the middle, they stayed together and people got checked twice.

The whole thing was completed before the train got to Vermont/Sunset. Now that wasn't so hard to do it while the train was moving, was it?

In all seriousness, I hope this is a step toward progress and that they ramp this up so that we can reasonably expect to have our TAP cards checked for payment rather than just visual inspection
