UK vs US: which do you enjoy more?

I have a job offer in London but I live in California so it’s a big change. I don’t really like California so it’ll be a great change…

But curious to hear what are the things people enjoy in UK and what are things you dislike.

30F | Started LDR, still in LDR, might be in LDR for longer time. I haven’t made it official yet. Any advice?

Hi I met this person on a dating app and we started casually dating more than a year ago (getting close to 2 years since we first met..)

Our relationship has always been LDR because I met him when I was back home for vacation. And we live in different countries.

This year we saw each other 4 different occasions mostly because I had other reasons to go back home. So we are getting quite good amount of time.

I know he wants to be official but I am still uncertain mostly because of uncertain future plans.

He is planning to come to where I currently live for MBA + potentially get a job here but I might go back to my country.

That means additional 3-5 years of LDR…

I love my alone time so it’s good but 3-5 years is a long commitment… for 30F…

Any advice?

I lost motivation. Any recommendations?

I am a team lead level but I lost motivation. Any recommendations?

Changing my job is tricky due to visa situation in the US. I’m considering going back to my country too but idk there’s always pros and cons….

I don’t like the politics. I don’t like how it depends on how well your managers sell the projects…

How did you transition from data science to software engineering?

Hi I am a data scientist but I came to notice that I prefer to build tools..
But I don’t have e2e build experience.

What kind of personal project will be helpful to get into more engineering role than DS roles?

Any success stories?

Anyone came to US as immigrant but left US for good? How’s your life now?

Im 30 yo living in the US. I’ve lived in the US for 8 years in total (5 years gap in between) - 5 years in school in the US -> went back to my country to work for 5 years -> came back to the US for work 3 years ago

Currently I’m debating whether I should try to stay or go home.

  1. I miss my country. Every time I go back home, I love it. I have friends and family back home.
  2. I want to stay in the US because my LDR bf is planning to come to the USA. And my company pays well (6 figure job)
  3. But I’m burned out. Tired from job - corporate America culture.
  4. I’m on L1 visa and I’m stuck with my job. It pays well but I’m no longer motivated

Anyone else decided to leave US and what’s your experience? Do you miss US? Do you plan to come back to the US?

Anyone have up on green card process and left US? How is your experience

Hi people,
Visa situation:
- On L1
- PD 2024/7 RD 2026/4 EB-3 ROW
- 1 FTA0, 1 FTA1 silent since 2026/6/30

I want to quit my job. And I have a lot more opportunities back home in Asia and I’m contemplating to go home instead of being stuck in my job. I’ll most likely stay if I get green card within next few months.

My job pays well but I’m no longer motivated to do well at this job. Mentally exhausted.

The downside for me is money and the friendship. And also my LDR bf is planning to come to the US.

But I’m mentally exhausted not sure what to do.
Curious to hear what others went through. If you regret your choice? Or actually just enjoying your life etc

Not sure if it’s worth paying the fee. Anyone with good experience?

L1A with pending EB3: have you ever changed job after 180days of filing I-485? Any advice?

What’s your experience? Any regret? Should I wait till GC approval 🥲?

I filed the I-485 this April and I can’t wait to change my job once it hits 180 days. My PD is 2024 July.

There are a lot of interesting opportunities outside of my company and would like to take it if possible.
